+1 for Linux!

Not that I'm a Linux user, but isn't Wine enough? Please excuse my ignorance.

With Wine or Steam Play, no it's not enough. You get no support, at all. There workarounds and a stop-gap, nothing more. Nice to have, better than nothing but not what a paying customer would expect.

A properly supported version is the best scenario.

Ok, sure thing. Is that the case for platinum rated games too?

Yes. Platinum is just a rating, any update to the game or to Wine/Steam Play can break it at any time. You can argue the same can be said for a native game, but with a native game you've paid for that support for it to be fixed up and working - no such thing with Wine.

How I love it having people with such a name asking the politest questions. :) Respects.

Wishlisted this one myself and will keep an eye for a linux version or at least good proton suport for it...
PS:i'm a lucky enough arch linux user to have all my favorite games run either with native suport or working well with proton(Age of Empires 2,Field of glory 2 , Age of decadence to name a few)
PPS: these are the 2 worth while sites to check out the game's current level of linux friendly-ness:

+1 for Linux, or at least some support in Proton - I heard some people got it to work in Ubuntu, but they have sound issues

I'd love a native linux version, or even proton support.

tested the demo with Proton - game looks nice and plays very well, except for some stutters in cut scenes.
Insta-buy when ported natively

have any one tester it with Proton?

I tried out the demo with Proton. It ran and played pretty well. I noticed some audio issues where the voices were low and the rest of the audio was very loud regardless of what I set the audio settings to. I had to manually lower the volume of my system and turn the subtitles on. Performance was a bit low as I got in the 40's and 50's on epic settings. Overall though the gameplay was fun. Hopefully the full version runs better.

I have a low-spec 3rd Gaming PC, running Ubuntu LTS and SteamPlay.

This Unreal Engine game runs well on 5-7 year old hardware (720p/60FPS - see my specs below). But it CAN be very demanding, since you can crank up all the graphic settings to the max.

Played the Demo with no issues at all = I rated Mutant as "Platinum" on ProtonDB.

Proton:3.16-8 Distro:Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS Kernel:4.15.0-46-generic RAM:8 GB GPU Driver:NVIDIA 415.27 GPU:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST CPU:AMD A8-3850 APU with Radeon HD Graphics

I don't know if we should be rating the game on Proton DB based off the demo but to each their own. We haven't played the full version.

I ran it ( full version) and it almost ran fine with exception to some graphical glitches. Some model that was strewn about the first level was rotating but its vertices where stretched and pulled every which way. Seen this happen before in games but never sure what causes it exactly.

I am running Rysen 2400g | RX580 | 16GB Ram | Ubuntu with Kernel 5.0.3 and latest Vulkan / Mesa community drivers.

seems to run fine here as well, some slight fps drops, but nothing to concern about as it stays at 60 fps probably 99% of the time.

i5-4690k, 8GB Ram, SSD, gtx 1060 on 418.56 drivers, debian testing on 4.20.1 and proton 4.2 if that helps anyone
