mäh, it is so hard for me to leave a negative review on this game.
I am "doom player" from day one (basically) and enjoyed every title in the whole series.
With DOOM Reboot from 2016 as a definite highlight I was really keen on DOOM Eternal.

And man, the first few seconds feel instant great, super nice gun feedback, swift movement, smashing and slicing the first few lesser beings from hell... and yet, it strted very soon to feel kind of odd what was done to the game.
First thing noticed was this "arena" charakter of the maps where you need to kill a given number of mobs to proceed and then it got even worse with those unholy and super anoying jumping b/s in the maps.

DOOM is not a platformer, was not and will hopefully never ever be again. jump-dash-dash, fall start all over.
Kinde suxx right after the first encounter.
Sorry, maybe I am alone with my massive dislike on this game mechanic, but when I play DOOM, I want to godlike cut-and-slice demons and blow freaking body limbs apart and not "Mario-esk" jump from one floating platform to the next - fail miserably a dozen times and redo all the level from the beginning.

he fighting itself is still DOOM, sure, fast paced and un-forgiving - which I am perfectly fine with.
Also the new Ammo-Management makes it realyl tough sometimes and you fail because in the middle of a fight you end up all empty.... sure, not well enough planed and executed, I love to start over for that purpose.
but falling into lava after miss-timed dash-jump-dash-combo? Ah no, thank you.
