XBOX one Controller, right trigger doesnn't work while shooting. . ., .
the controller works fine, using it to SPRINT work, but i can't shoot at all. i can press LT to aim, but after that, presssing RT to shoot doesnt work. wtf is this

Edit: now the left bumber (LB) also doesn't work. Seriously if there's no fix i will refund since playing with keyboard for this game isn't as comfortable as controller.

The controller works perfectly. I put it in steam control test as well as 3rd party website all my controller buttons works.

I remember a similar thread shortly after the game came out:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/752590/discussions/0/1638661595065181736

The user "Cal" in that thread is Kevin Choteau, the Game Director of Plague Tale, since they actually admitted it they may have messed something up, but the only patch after that was about the photo mode and the issue did not seem to be solved.

It seems to affect both Xbox One and Elite controllers, I have both Xbox One and the new Series X controllers, and a few third party ones, but can't seem to actually reproduce the issue, so personally I'm not sure if it's a global issue. But the magnetic triggers of Microsoft controllers do seem to miss inputs in certain conditions, especially if you quickly mash the trigger, I usually think such triggers(long travel, good feedback, sometimes miss quick inputs) are best suited for driving games instead of shooting.

Solved! It's a controller-problem, regarding to some controller settings. Get an app from the microsoft store for XBOX controller, don't know it's english name, in german it's Xbox Zubehör. There you can change the controller settings. For the triggers I could see the problem: when pressing them down as far as possible, it showed me that i pressed about 50% down. Had to change the deadzones, which have been much too high, until pushing the trigger got the max. recognized input. Sorry if my english isn't the best in this technical things.

For me what worked was going into Settings >> Controller >> General Controller Settings >> Click on XBox Configuration Support. I'm not sure if it was a fluke but I tried everything and only this worked. Btw I use a Steam controller. Only after I changed this setting I was able to use my sling on the apple tree.

Go into the steam controller settings. Edit configuration. Triggers. Click the gear next to right trigger behavior. At the very bottom is Trigger Range End. Decrease that setting to 70 or 80% of its full value. According to my calibration software my "full pull" analog value is 20,000, far short of the 32,000 required by default to trigger a full pull.
