Minecraft graphics
another plus to this game if your a minecraft junkie.....more obj ideas to practice with in minecraft, new ideas for trees, buildings, lights etc.....so much eye candy....lots of intricate blending with block colors.

Surely they can also create a space game with the 8bit blocks, those high rez graphics games are limited because they put such a strain on bandwidth. Think it would be neat to have an 8bit game with the "elite dangerous" theory in mind.

When I first bought the original Cloudpunk, I have to admit I was put off by the voxels. It seemed to me like such a bizarre way to build a world, especially when there are more "suitable" workflows, even ones from after the year 2000.

I was wrong! I doubt I'll ever build anything with voxels myself, but I do see how powerful and flexible they are as a building tool now. Especially now, with voxel clouds in Microsoft Flight Simulator living in near-perfect harmony with vectors, shaders, and sub-surface scattering... coming soon with ray-tracing... wow!
I've always loved voxel graphics, long before Minecraft was a thing. Games like 3D Dot Game Heroes (an awesome voxel-based Zelda-like action RPG for those unfamiliar) and others were always so eye-catching to me.

Games like this one, that achieve a unique aesthetic and atmosphere through lighting and so forth while also being simple voxel-based have always been very appealing to me because they have their own visual character and "feel" that more realistic polygonal models don't have.

There's a game called Starmade that sorta does that

i had a look at starmade and seems its been abandoned or just dropped at this time, maybe they were using an outdated engine. Hopefully their reworking it with a new engine. It looks promising but yes very unfinished. Looked like something i would be interested in, maybe there is more voxel based games out their i can search for.

was also looking to see if there was more types of minecraft type voxel builders besides minecraft, minecraft is limited and have to nitpick with diff mods to get what you want even tho i did see where they had the mini-block blocks which looks like mini block building would give you more control over how an object would look, building with pixels, lots of shading and blending. If you were putting together a building you would be able to go crazy with the details graphics wise if you could make your own color palettes. Surely theres a mod out there that lets you use more than one palette at one time.
