Golden globes?!

I can't seem to get these bastards to appear. A google search found that they show up at night near the southwest camp site. Nope. I've tried all the different times of day, and they're not showing up. Not even the cactiballs show up on the map at night. I've fought all kinds of enemies and cactiballs are appearing in fights, but no golden globes. Does RNJesus hate me, or am I doing something wrong?

They look like non moving cactic on the ground, move towards them to start a battle...

I know. They show up at day time, but not at night, and even then, I'm not getting any golden globes.

Did you get the optional quest to kill a golden cacti, think it guaranteed a spawn. Otherwise, it's random.

I also have the Wings of Serendipity, or whatever that necklace is that attracts rare monsters, though I can't seem to equip it.

It's an accessory, not a helmet slot item...

I found one specific monster that has one in it every time I attacked it. Head southish from the town and there should be like a pillar or something in middle of a path not too far from the town.

There should be three cactus' that look like scenery on the other side of the rock thing. Hit the one on the right side (as you're walking towards the little rock/pillar thing) and it should have a gold one in there.

it doesnt matter what time of day, they only spawn if you walk into the small cactus balls lying around and even then its not guaranteed. Just keep at it, i was fortunate enough to get it on my 2nd try.

Found it, southwest of the town. Two were just two Cactiballs, and the third was one and a Metal Slime (which promptly ran like a lil wimp). Seems good. I'll keep trying, though. I also have the Wings on my MC now so that might help.

YASSS. Zoomed to the southwest campsite, ran back to the pillar, and the one on the right had a Golden Globe cactus thingy. Took a while but I kicked its head in without taking any damage. Thanks, guys!
