So, Erik or Jade?
Pretty new to JRPGs and definitely new to DQ.

Kinda fun, kinda eays, but its held my attention so far, so thats good. Now, Jade or Erik? I like Erik's poison attack then Victimizer combo, hits so hard. But Jade has cool fist weapons, which I also like, but she doesn't seem to have a strong attack like Eriks Posion+Vic combo?

I love dual wielding, but both can do that. So what you all recommend?

Unlock Divide from Erik's Guile tree.

I don't need to say anything more.
Jade all the way using primarily Spears + some fisticuffs like vacuum attack and the 7 hit multifoot attack (you keep spear equipped while still using hand to hand skills). Revamp is a cool effect you get in Act 2. Also, you can work your way towards Pink Tornado in the Allure section, but you probably wont get it until eary Post-game/Act 3 if you do Spears and some fisticuffs first. Erik is only really good late game with everything unlocked (Post game/Act 3), unless you pair him with Slyvando to do the status effects.

Lightning Storm under Spears is underwhelming so skip that (but lightning thrust is very good, especially for Metal Slimes).

I recommend keeping both in your party. :yazdwink: Erik for stealing and Jade because she's sexy and probably the best melee warrior.

atack x2 + enemy with def -2 + divide + poison + the atack of do x6dmg to a enemy with poision = Erick do +- 6ks dmg in a hit

Jade is naturally tanky and fast, and hits hard without requiring any set up. Erik requires a bit of set up and is squishy, but his damage is arguably the best in the game as is his agility, and then there's his Half-Inch and Hallelujah/Itemised Kill Pep Powers. It's all a preference of your own, imo. The entire cast have their own strengths and weaknesses, and compliment each other in so many ways. :)
why not both- I do- but sure when you get X in your party I usually swap out one of them.

Jade with vamp and multithrust can dish out insane dmg- love her!
But yeah, Erik as well with divide AND he can steal...

HOWEVER, erik, jade and mc together can use the pepped skill halleuh that increase drop chances, gold and exp- so try and have them together as much as possible.

erik has the highest damage output with any of his weapons, especially swords. Jade has some hard hitting spear abilities. Claws by default have low damage, but multiattacks and high crit, jades default weapon is spear, it has more abilities for her. Claws are default for rab.

Also if you go fisticuffs and not allure, claws kinda sucks, because all abilities there scale with attack power and claws have much lower than spears.

Rab doesnt learn omniheal, right?
So for his multiheal he def need some increased healing effects from his staff.

Hm, good to know that allure scales with attack. Guess I'll switch my 99 Jade to spear.

Tbh it's a single player game, just go with whatever you like more. That's what I always do. Single player games can be beaten without having to min max anything.

both, those two and the hero have a skill that makes grinding a cakewalk plus they're the heavy three on the team in brute strength. Like the first guy said get divide and add that to jades fists and spear and the hero's whatever and bam cakewalk.

The real question is what magic users to use, they split up the healing, attack, and buff magics in an annowing way that forces constent switching.

my favorite party is Hero + jade+ rab+ sylvando Eric was great for 2/3 of the game but in act 2 he really falls off even with divide because ti takes a turn to set up. I mainly just use him for critical claim now

did you get eriks duel wield ability? not the one that lets him duel wield but the one that makes both weapons do full damage? if you have two boomerangs and that he kills just about everything without divide only using double down or twomerang

I'm going with Hero+Erik+Jade+Syl. if I had to choose I'd keep jade but it's a hard choice.
