i dont know people

i just understand what you just never even play tales of eternia / abyss / phantasia etc

because its all starts with tales of

food cooking, best action gameplay, insane dungeons what you never complete alone without a guide

tales of phantasia is the lord of the rings of the jrpg section

so i just understand what tales of community sadly officially dead

because i just see bunch of people who praise final fantasy and trails of

and if you just take character development and background of characters for example of the abyss and just see it like any wise and intellegent person like me will see it

i mean i beat all rpg in history - i know what xenogears is and your trails of games is the child anime compare to xenogears, and terranigma heh

but not tails of

i suppose i just need start my own TRUE rpg top where i can put nehrim / enderal / xenogears / terranigma / tales of phantasia / ys chronicles

I played almost 10 Tales games, still think that most of them are mediocre.

The first word I think of about the Tales series is "mediocre". Mediocre story, plots, graphics, characters, music, world design, gameplay (other than battle system), are all mediocre and rarely improved with any new entries. The battle system is the only thing above average (still, some Tales have bad battle system as well).

Every Tales game I played, every scene, every plot twist, only gave me the One Punch Man's "Okay..." reaction. That's how mediocre they are.

I'm glad to see them doing better after firing the old producer Giant Baba who kept making the same styled games for decades, changing things in Berseria and Arise, trying to improve. But it's too soon to say that the series in general is great, let alone being the best JRPG series.

Haven't seen Xenoblade Chronicles X mentioned yet.
That one gets special bonus points for having pilotable giant robots in it.
Because as everyone knows, any game that has pilotable giant robots in it is automatically better than any game that doesn't have pilotable giant robots in it.

The English localization ruined those games.

Also held back by being Nintendo exclusive.

Golden era FF (FF6-FF10) pretty much destroys anything Tales related.

Likewise Xeno series have infinitely better plots, something a good JRPG should also have. Tales games known for mediocre stories at best.

After 100%ing Arise, I have to say it is quite possibly the worst if not the worst JRPG story I've ever experienced. It is so laughably bad I don't know how anyone can enjoy it all the way through. There were just too many dumb moments that could only work on 10 year old players.

There are tons of better JRPG , especially from the 90s.
Grandia 1+2, Lunar 1+2, Suikoden 1-5, Vagrant Story, Skies of Arcadia and so on.
All way better JRPG then Tales, especially in the story department.

Nowadays, Ys series and Legend of Heroes series are FAR better then anything Tales.
Final Fantasy peaked at 9 and has not been good for a long time though, i agree with that.

I find it funny people tend to associate JRPGs with good stories and Tales pretty much has none of it. Nobody realistically should be playing a Tales game for story, it's like trying watch Fast & Furious for story.
