that is true but i still include it because its part of the ff series
all games have their bad apples ecen legand of heros have its bad games too,
it just how you veiw them, like for me the legand series feels meh but i respect the people who do find enjoyment from them.
This whole topic is subjective anyway though, no one is really right or wrong, it's whatever games they prefer subjectively. For me personally the Tales series is on the lower end of JRPGS, they don't suck, but I generally consider numerous other JRPGS better.
Fight me.
Yeah because evolving really caused Final Fantasy to make some good games, right? Good ol' 13 and 15, amazing games.
12 is probably the only one that did different things that was actually good.
Nonsense, not everything after FF10 is bad. 12 was amazing, a ton of content, amazing battle system, pretty good/cool story if you're into very political stories, etc.
12 easily holds it's own against 1-10.
i heard that apparently somekind of mobile game exist..but than it might as well be a dead series.
if they made more of yakuza: like a dragon (which they probably will.) i would say that one has a shot too but so far its not a "series" yet. :P
Many series start great and if they would have kept up in quality character and storywriting they could easily take the crown, like Star Ocean, the first two were great, than they experimented alot with stuff that some liked and others didnt ,made some mediocre games and the fifth game (SO:Integrity and faithlessness) was forgotten so quickly by the gaming world that it would be funny if it wasnt so sad.
huehue lazy shell break game
Thankfully this game has reinvigorated my love for the franchise, as well as finally getting the definitive edition of Vesperia in the west.
That said, I still wouldn't say this is the best franchise, not personally anyway. Each individual game is pretty good, with a few unfortunate stand outs, but playing long-form series such as the Kiseki games has caused me to appreciate huge overarching stories more than one-off titles in a franchise.
when it comes to jrpgs i would probably still call Xenogears my best experience (well disc 2 was kinda wonky)
but i remember playing tales pretty much on every console since the PSX
and even though i nowadays stay far away from both anime and jprgs, i still buy every Tales game and tbh. i would be hard pressed to find another game offering me such a great, polished, content rich experience as Arise did lately.
it's a stable, and Arise did make some great progress for series, especialy when it comes to presentation, combat (moment to moment gameplay), polish and QOL.
