i play 64 hours on hard according to steam

AND NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE END

IM NOT A LAZY PLAYER - BUT IM LEVEL 40 AND I see the enemy at tower like level 70 or so

also i think they got optional bosses and fishing rods and etc

HOW YOU JUST SAY YOU GOT PLATINUM TROPHY FOR 50 HOURS

im a casual player, but i know there is people out there in sweaty and in love with these types of games, people that dont shower, its not their first rodeo. so yes i believe someone can complete this in 20hrs even

idk either, probably cheat engine/dlc cheat items. I've been playing on hard and I just finished the main story after about 125 hours and now doing the final side quests.

I'm level 45 at 63~ hours on Hard.
Tha's a very high time, but i've explored every corner of the world at least 3 times because I wanted to. Every gems, ore, plants etc is totally useless. I have so many of those that i could solve all Africa starvation problems and the silicon shortages.
I also played most of the characters just because I felt like it
Doing combo is very satisfying and i prefer juggle the enemy rather than killing it fast.
Doing the final blow with the animation for small enemy isn't worth 90% of the time for the sake of going fast.
There's no need to skip any skits (you actually skip some by going too fast for the game to trigger flags to show them, but that doesn't matter).

I could shave off at least 60 hours of that time by:

1. Not keeping the PC open while i was AFK
   
2. Avoid unnecessary menu / crafting because it's useless until very late on
   
3. Avoid using the ranch (useless)
   
4. Avoid killing boss optional enemies
   
5. Avoid subquest
   
6. Playing normally and play with alphen properly (i didn't get the gist of the fire until later on and the low health exploit).
   
7. Avoid fiddling with the options / graphics settings a lot.

For 100%, here's other tips to do the fastest way of playing, shaving most of the time and doing everything, even subquest.

1. Don't take detours useless detours.
   
2. Do all subquest at the end of the game. You oneshot 90% of the enemies, taking down completion from 10 minutes of bossfight (and getting you're party farmed enough) to 0.
   
3. Spam the strongest artes and disable the useless one of the allies.

Simply by playing smart you can cut a lot of time.
40 hours is very, very doable on moderate.
40 on hard is also possible by cheesing the game and doing as i said above.

At about 65 hours with all achievements. I was not speed running the game at all. I didn't skip any scenes etc. I can get how you can easily beat the game in 40 hours if you don't do any side quests.

if u were to compare the length from Phantasia - Berseria againts Arise, arise is short. And 60hours in i've already maxed out my characters and finished up arena , tower and cameo fights.

Phantasia, Destiny, Destiny 2, Eternia, Legendia, Innocence, Hearts, Tempest, Xillia, Xillia 2, and probably a few more escort titles I'm forgetting can all easily be beaten in under 40 hours. I play at a leisurely pace and a game like this which I enjoyed very much playing on the ps5 took me 65 hours to beat.

I don't know, but people should be able to play things the way they want to play them. I am at around 13.5 hours in and I am nowhere near finished either. I would expect this to be a 45 hour game for me at this current rate....give or take a few hours....but I am playing on normal as I always do my first playthrough for any game...

The length of this JRPG is perfect. 30 is too short, and 60+ is too long for the main story.

They can always add more side content, but the main story should be 40-50 for every JRPG.

Also this game has a lot of things that help you speed it up and reduce tediousness. It respects your time. If a JRPG is 70+hours just for the main story there's probably 5-10 hours in there of pure wasted time due to bad game design.

No DLC because whats the effing point in DLC for a Single player game that has very limited replayability?

Also on hard and wipe each fight with zero healing items used and I'm at 50 hours nearly and I assume I've not close to done yet. I haven't done anything out of the way or afk. Just side quests, hunting, and playing at a normal pace.

phantasia eng game dungeons kick ass to any jrpg to be honest
