Best JRPG for 2021

Mine is Tales of Arise...this game is just on another level

Y's Monstrum easily, this game has been pretty good so far though, defintitely enjoying my time; it's just not as engaging for me personally.

"Nier Replicant" came out this year so no chance for Arise.
Also if PC ports count, "Trails of Cold Steel 4" was this year, also vastly superior to Arise for me personally.

Apart from that, what did even release?
"Ys Monstrum Nox" like already mentioned ( did not play it yet), "Scarlett Nexus" and anything else?
Was a pretty dry year for JRPG.

For me both Nier games are in my Top 10 RPG of all times list.
Different people have different tastes in games.

The last good Tales Of were: TO Shymponia, TO Legendia and TO Abys; the rest are rubbish, all the same or similar to the previous ones and with a very short gameplay story.

Arise is my favourite Tales game to date, and the better J-RPG's as of late.

Square-Enix labels NieR as an RPG, and I'm not going to presume to have more authority than the creators of the game.

Arise is very good, but there's actually been a lot of JRPGs this year that I liked better. Ys IX, NieR Replicant, and NEO The World Ends with You were all fantastic. I probably don't like them quite as much as Arise, but Monster Hunter Stories 2, Ryza 2, and Bravely Default 2 are all good, too.

Edit: Oh man, I almost forgot Fuga: Melodies of Steel. I didn't think of it immediately because it's a very different kind of JRPG than the rest of these games, but it's great, too.

Imagine thinking Symphonia had an amazing story. It was ok, but certainly not worthy of the praise you're giving it.
