Though hentai is a extreme and likely not what is even allowed to be discussed here, fanservice does mean ecchi stuff right? I'm asking in case I need a firmware update for my vernacular.

Fanservice is what you normally see in your typical safe for TV, modern day comedy Anime. Hentai on the other hand is what you find on the Hub.

Ah yes, like those panning shots conveniently placed to focus your attention...got it. In some cases, that stuff is still not appropriate for U.S. television, though somehow fine in Japan. I'm not super sure how it airs over there.

Well I'm not American, so I wouldn't know. But yes, I am referring to Japan and to answer your question, I have 2 answers:

1- Sexual undertones are just part of the culture over there. If you do some researches, you'll find that have a festival for women's boobs and another for men's genitals.
2- They don't let Twitter terrorists dictate what their entertainment should contain.

There are some costumes in the shop that are a little on the fan service side, but nah the tales series is extremely tame. Essentially any of their games are All Ages similar to Dragon Quest, but with more maturity and less silliness.
