Blazing sword not working

Has anyone faced an issue with the blazing sword not working? I was using it up to the Ganabelt fight, but now it doesn't work anymore. Tried switching some artes but still doesn't work. Tried against random enemies rather than boss, but still nothing. Any ideas?

Are you making sure to hold the key or button of the attack your using for long enough to make the flame sword skills work?

Yeah, pretty sure. Especially because I used to be able to do it and now it doesn't work.

You probably are using the wrong arte. Look at the arte and in the top part of its description will be the type of blazing sword skill it causes when held. You probably don't have that skill associated just quite yet. If you swap to the one you used prior or others that cast the same one then it will work. Example: Incineration wave, etc.

Thats a good shout by Xengre, just double check your skills and make sure that they are the correct ones to active the Sword.

Make sure the arte you use has a flame sword follow up that you have learned if its greyed out nothing will happen.

I seem to have the same problem. As far as I checked my ground artes they all should trigger the sword with different effects. But than the combat system sometimes give me headaches and there are constantly new moves and tricks added. Hard to remeber all. Im in the Eisland in the tower of the Lord there with Law and the two exhausting women. Do I have to pay attention to something to make work?

Make sure the blazing sword skill is yellow in the arte description, that means you unlocked it. If it's red, you haven't. Try using some basic arte like swallow blade or something as it has the most basic blazing sword skill.

Hold the button -> Arte activates -> Flaming Edge activates right after Arte.
They cost health, so you do need to have enough health left or they wont activate.

The blazing sword only activates with the artes that has the flame strike ability is unlocked. Once you unlocked it, just press the artes button down that is assigned to the arte to activate it.
