Similar games to this, please?
I am new to jrpg genre and really love this game. Can you advise something similar story depth and mechanics? In addition to the series "Tales of"

The Star Ocean series comes to mind.

Final Fantasy XIII.

Star ocean 4: The last hope. Probably the closest one, I also think it's excellent. Great combat system, I genuinely enjoyed the story and it's characters. Graphically it takes some time getting used to but overall I thought the game was amazing.

Are you looking for action combat or is turn based okay too?

Have a look at Ni No Kuni 2. Not sure if the story is any deeper than ToA since I've not finished it yet; but both the gameplay and story are pretty good.

Ys series is also good. But they've just transitioned to actual 3d in its 8th installation, I believe. You don't need to play any previous entries; each installation has its own story with some occasional minor references to prior entries.

I second this. Ys series by Falcom if you want action RPGs similar to Arise.

Star Ocean too would be fine as if I'm correct, there are team members that worked on Tales of Arise that previously worked on Star Ocean games.

If you want something different, "Trails of" is a great series to get into by Falcom. But considering how many games there are in the series, it's also quite a lot to get into. There are 10 games that are currently out right now that are all directly related with each other and a new one is in the make that is also directly tied to the previous 10.

Star Ocean Till The End of Time, it's the best in the series and it is very similar.

SO3 is only available on ps4 (psn shop) or ps3.

I recommand Star Ocean 4.

it's not similar but I consider Dragon Quest 11 and Nier Automata the best JRPG on steam.
Ys VIII, Ys IX is probably the closest thing to the tales series.

persona 5 strikers is pretty great. it does assume you've played original though (which is ps exclusive)

Ni No kuni. imo 1 is so much better then 2. Great game, 2 was rly meh.

Dragon quest xi. While i was/am playing Tales of Arise many things reminded me of that game. Its turn based, but i also liked that combat system, its chill.

I think DQXI, ToA and Witcher 3 may be the 3 best rpg's ive ever played. Never rly got into rpg's when i was young though. Shoutout to Es:oblivion and FFX though.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, 2,3. Almost all games in this series jrpg

the last couple of Dragon Quests (although the combat differs)
but tbh. getting through the whole Tales series will already take quite some time
if you got access to a switch i can highly recommend the Xenoblade series aswell (or get a PSX and Xenogears...which is still the king)
