"Trails of" But those are turn based
Are you looking for action combat or is turn based okay too?
Star Ocean too would be fine as if I'm correct, there are team members that worked on Tales of Arise that previously worked on Star Ocean games.
If you want something different, "Trails of" is a great series to get into by Falcom. But considering how many games there are in the series, it's also quite a lot to get into. There are 10 games that are currently out right now that are all directly related with each other and a new one is in the make that is also directly tied to the previous 10.
I recommand Star Ocean 4.
Ys VIII, Ys IX is probably the closest thing to the tales series.
Dragon quest xi. While i was/am playing Tales of Arise many things reminded me of that game. Its turn based, but i also liked that combat system, its chill.
I think DQXI, ToA and Witcher 3 may be the 3 best rpg's ive ever played. Never rly got into rpg's when i was young though. Shoutout to Es:oblivion and FFX though.
but tbh. getting through the whole Tales series will already take quite some time
if you got access to a switch i can highly recommend the Xenoblade series aswell (or get a PSX and Xenogears...which is still the king)
