As for insta-hunt deaths, what are your difficulty settings? There is normally a timer after the ghost starts to hunt before the ghost actually starts hunting.
Crucifixes are purely a PREVENTATIVE tool; If the hunt has already begun, A crucifix will do Nothing to stop or hinder the ghost in any way. It will only stop a hunt attempt IF the ghost is within it's radius at the time the hunt attempt is made.
I've done I feel as much research as I can on the matter, but even if you use the crucifixes and put them perfectly to prevent hunts, there are a few instances where they won't work despite ones carefulness.
First off, Twin Hunts: The crucifixes protections only apply if the ghost entity is in its range when it performs it's "hunt check" - however, The Twins ability makes this a literal coin flip. This is because the "fast twin" actually starts hunting from the last item affected by it's larger secondary interaction radius, and will teleport into position after the hunt check is passed (and if this happens to be inside of the range of a crucifix it will appear as if it didn't work).
Beyond that fairly obvious situation - there seems to be no evidence to deny the possibility that the ghost is allowed to move while it decides to do something... this includes hunting. As far as confirming if this is a possibility... well, there is a bit of credence in the fact that the "DOTS state" is something that can be decided by moving... but that might be specifically for that decision. Either way... there's nothing to my knowledge hard denies... or confirms... the plausibility of any ghost being capable of doing it's hunt check while on the move.
on discord ppl are generally wary of new members sharing media, as it can be spam or inappropriate so most discord servers have an automatic bot removing all media posted by new members
as I m not on the phasmo discord I can not tell if this is true for the phasmo one, but just in general it is to be expected that media shared on discord gets insta-deleted
No problems posting youtube links here though, hence why we always ask people to put them here to see what you see.
A perfect example of a pointless discussion:
new members?

Yeah, I guess that's new
Automatic removal of media?
So you don't know there's a video channel where you can actually post anything or upload videos directly, and that you can do the same in the bug reports section
You're not even on that discord, so yes, thanks for providing the prime example here.
But thank you very much for providing some very generic discord advice that doesn't apply here, especially with such conviction.
no, pretty much the opposite of this. The discord has a dedicated media section where people can upload and link videos as much as they want to. More spreading of desinformation with 100% conviction right here.
So you come here to complain nobody is taking your proof seriously, then when people ask to see you proof you decide to stick with "I don't feel like it".
You're shooting yourself in the foot here. Either provide the proof when asked for it, or stop complaining.
It's not like I'm the only one who has experienced it, I didn't start the thread and there is yet another guy posting right above you who had it happen too.
As far as I am aware, there is nothing forcing and/or requiring that the ghost stops moving before performing their crucifix check, and then begin the hunt upon reaching where they were supposed to stop. We can see this sort of behavior already with how the "Dots State" works with ghosts with that evidence... so there is some credibility to this theory, just not any hard proof (as we obviously don't know if the decision making for the two works exactly the same as each other).
