Make it so that you can play phasmophobia with friends as a ghost.
Phasmophobia is the best horror movie I've ever seen. I would say that this is not a horror movie, but a little scary quest. The game is beautiful and it is clear that the developer tried to do something of his own. But I wish that someday it would be possible to play as a ghost with friends. Maybe it's possible to do it somehow, but I do not know how. Who knows, please write!

Not going to happen. The devs have zero intention of implenting any kind of explicit PvP mechanic into the game; Not limited to but including Investigators v Ghost.

This is not, and never will be, Dead by Daylight.

I've lost count on how many similar threads have been made with this idea by now - but yeah it is as Shurenai said: it's going to be strictly Co-op... no PvP

With how long the game has been in Early Access - this would be something that had to be developed from the beginning. Balance would also be a huge issue that, more often than not, would be in the investigators favor.

It's honestly better to just play Dead by Daylight for that kind of fix - as the game is designed around the concept and have done it far, far better than Phasmophobia could ever pull off.

It almost seems like it was written by chatgpt or something.

People have such absurd ideas around these game modes now....

Dude isnt asking for PvP the way Dead by Daylight is designed, he asked for being able to control the ghost as a fun game mode among friends. Of course the ghost will be at a disadvantage at every turn, but thats part of what would make it fun.

Not that I ever expected it or need it from Phasmo, but I can see where he is coming from.

Phasmo is really a game that I only enjoy with friends anyhow.

It's the opposite. The ghost isn't at a disadvantage at every turn- If the game mode were implemented with current game mechanics, The ghost would basically win 100% of the time. Imagine if EVERY ghost were a Deogen that didn't slow down when it got close, and ignored smudges and just kept going in your direction every time, that knows all the hiding places and tricks, that isn't going to initiate a hunt from inside the range of a crucifix and get stopped by that ever, that isn't going to stand around and do things that give away their evidence or tells, and so many other things besides.

A player Mare is never going to flip off a light that a player just turned on because it's an instant giveaway. The ghost wins. Hands down. They can just go tuck themselves in a corner at the far end of the map while the investigators waste all their sanity trying to find them, never throw an item to indicate their location, then chain hunt and murder everyone with ease. Literally the only way the ghost loses with current mechanics is if they WILLFULLY give themselves away instead of aiming to win, and in a competetive mode where it's you vs them, even the most benevolent friend as the ghost is likely to angle towards winning much more often than losing.

In seeking to have a "fun mode for friends" you're completely ignoring all the problems it presents and the fact that this game isn't just played by you and friends, but by millions of people many of whom just play with randoms. Any kind of pvp competition is going to cause problems and toxicity.

The game isn't made for it. And the devs have no intention of implementing it. End of.

You already can play as a Ghost. Just go give the Ghost a hug while it's hunting, and now you can be a ghost with your friends.

It is one thing to dream about it being added, but as a dev you've to stop being naive (especially the "because i like it, others will as well"-attitude), because people will complain about everything you do. Sure, some people wouldn't care about bad balancing, but that's usually rather a minority, especially when it is bad balanced against a player.

And as a player as well it is often better to rather look out for games, which are actually made to be build around these ideas instead of expecting some games to either completely change or to implement the worst possible iteration of this feature.
