This is not, and never will be, Dead by Daylight.
With how long the game has been in Early Access - this would be something that had to be developed from the beginning. Balance would also be a huge issue that, more often than not, would be in the investigators favor.
It's honestly better to just play Dead by Daylight for that kind of fix - as the game is designed around the concept and have done it far, far better than Phasmophobia could ever pull off.
People have such absurd ideas around these game modes now....
Dude isnt asking for PvP the way Dead by Daylight is designed, he asked for being able to control the ghost as a fun game mode among friends. Of course the ghost will be at a disadvantage at every turn, but thats part of what would make it fun.
Not that I ever expected it or need it from Phasmo, but I can see where he is coming from.
Phasmo is really a game that I only enjoy with friends anyhow.
A player Mare is never going to flip off a light that a player just turned on because it's an instant giveaway. The ghost wins. Hands down. They can just go tuck themselves in a corner at the far end of the map while the investigators waste all their sanity trying to find them, never throw an item to indicate their location, then chain hunt and murder everyone with ease. Literally the only way the ghost loses with current mechanics is if they WILLFULLY give themselves away instead of aiming to win, and in a competetive mode where it's you vs them, even the most benevolent friend as the ghost is likely to angle towards winning much more often than losing.
In seeking to have a "fun mode for friends" you're completely ignoring all the problems it presents and the fact that this game isn't just played by you and friends, but by millions of people many of whom just play with randoms. Any kind of pvp competition is going to cause problems and toxicity.
The game isn't made for it. And the devs have no intention of implementing it. End of.
It is one thing to dream about it being added, but as a dev you've to stop being naive (especially the "because i like it, others will as well"-attitude), because people will complain about everything you do. Sure, some people wouldn't care about bad balancing, but that's usually rather a minority, especially when it is bad balanced against a player.
And as a player as well it is often better to rather look out for games, which are actually made to be build around these ideas instead of expecting some games to either completely change or to implement the worst possible iteration of this feature.
