Fix the lighting
The game is unplayable for me since the update. Everything is pitch black. There is some type of shader or other technick that makes everything not illuminated by a source of light pitch black #000000.

You can literally remove brightness slider now cause it's useless.

Human eye doesn't work that way. Things are not pitch black especially that if you go far away from a house, you see more than when you get closer because then this circle gets in that shades everything.

It works so stupid now that I see more when I turn on night vision on camera. But not on camera itself, simply night vision turns of that pitch black circle around me and I can actually see some contours of the walls.

Edit1:
I can actually record a video showing that entire madness and prove it's pitch black by using reshade to indicate which pixels have no colors at all

This is done on purpose and rightly so. It prevents letting anyone see in the dark with any filter they can throw at it, therefore no cheating or removing the fear factor.

....fear factor? This game was never scary to begin with. I can understand that motive however it's FAR too dark. Unrealistically dark. It looks bad and is bad. If they're worried about "cheating" they should do something about the no-evidence runs being the only way people are leveling fast

There is a weird issue where the color rendering is just off. Campsite was greyed out when we played there last night. Seen the same thing on other load ins where a player's shirt or hair would just be white or grey. Plus there's the whole deal of that first light in Asylum where the bottom half of that entry way just being blacked out.

It's clearly not a feature, it's a bug.

Exactly, I was never scared of that game and never used light cause I was just crouch walking close to the wall to find doors and escape the room. But now it's just insane, you see nothing and even if you turn on light in a room then you have literally black spots on walls or casted by furnitures.

And I repeat again, this is not how human eye works. I understand having extremely dark game, but dark doesn't mean no render at all.

The fact that shadows are still near pitch-black in a room with the lights on makes no sense and needs to be fixed. Not to mention flickering light (not the lights flickering, but the actual lighting) needs to be fixed as well.
I remember that one of the things that made this game so interesting to me when I first started playing it was how immersive it was because the graphics were really nice and realistic enough but now lightning in general looks horrible. Lightning was one of the few things that weren't convincing before but looked good now not only it's not realistic it also looks terrible, I honestly feel like graphics in general looks way worse because of it.

which is why they already announced they're fixing it.

honestly I like how places that are supposed to be dark now actually are dark and you can't cheese as much by turning up your brightness in the settings, graphics driver and/or monitor.

At least for the most part, some places like the prison cell blocks still have this really odd looking reflection thing that basically lets you see the entire room even when it should be dark.

When you're standing in a room and the light on the ceiling doesn't reach the floor, there's a problem.

Yes but that wasn't what I was talking about.

You know people with self control who don't cheese that stuff in the first place just shake heads at your lack of discipline. Or let me guess. it's about you thinking how others should play the game?

The devs have said it's a bug..... You're wrong and just made that up.
