Ouija Board issue

Has anyone had any issues with the Ouija board immediately breaking before you've even asked a question? Happens every time to me the second I touch the board.

If you use it at too low sanity, it'll break.

My board just broke in a game after I said goodbye and the thing flew back up. I endured the entire hunt in darkness and when I got to the van I still had 20% sanity, so low sanity certainly was not the cause of this.

Was the board deactivated? When it don´t recognize your Goodbye and you leave the board, it will burn.

Voice recognition is broken right now. Don't bother using cursed items that require you to talk until it's fixed. Had issues with both the board and paw. Neither one recognized what I was saying. Doubt the ghosts even know what words are at this point. I just toss the spirit box on the floor and wait for it to auto trigger a response.

They recently updated voice recognition to Vosk, but Windows voice recognition is still an option in the settings. Try changing it back to Windows.

Voice Recognition is working fine for me and my friends. Four of us use Vosk, one of us uses Windows, and none of us have issues.

I've only been using the windows voice recognition, and have had few issues with SpiritBox, Ouija board, or monkey paw. Seems like spiritbox questions have changed somewhat.

Is OP joining other players, or is OP the host of the lobby/in singleplayer? Remember that the Ouija Board will self-destruct if everyone leaves its radius while it's activated.

Had a similar issue. asked the ghost where it was while at 90%. said goodbye but it didn't register, tried again and it broke, then it started a cursed hunt that lasted about 5 seconds (i'm on professional, but it was short for even intermediate or amateur.) before it gave up. In the end I just have my voice to text for now.

If your having trouble with voice items, switch to text. While immersion breaking, it at least works.

There appears to be no keybind for text chat in the game nor any online forum saying how one even uses such a thing.

Text chat creates an interaction function for compatible items, I believe. Try "using" a Ouija Board, Monkey's Paw, or Spirit Box.

It's a setting in your Options, under either the Game or Audio tab I think. It will work with the Ouija board, Monkey Paw, and Spirit box; however, it immobilizes you too.
