Freezing temps confirmed bugged
Had three ghost types that was confirmed to have freezing temps but the temp on the tier one thermo never went below zero. Temps for the Yurei never went below 7 and we could see our breaths and others were hovering around 2

You can see your breath around 5 degrees, but with this update even seeing your breath does not mean freezing temps anymore, the thermometer must go below 0 for it to count.

Have you reported the circumstances in the bug report form available to the right hand of the screen?

Current build (in case this is a matter of not knowing the new build):

Misting Breath starts at about 5 degrees Celsius
Non-Freezing Ghosts bottom out at 0.1 degrees Celsius
This means that a non-freezing ghost will still cause misty breath.
Also, snow weather outdoors will cause misty breath.

I've seen around that people are judging -2 degrees as the safety point for confirming Freezing since on the tier 1 thermometer the 0 vs 0.1 can be a bit confusing.

Please be accurate to weather, map, maybe even ghost room.

Not being a dev, I'm not sure what variables affect that. I can say that I haven't had any problems like this, so the more specificity you give them, the more likely they are to find the specific bug because it doesn't seem to be a global situation.

I have found if i place the thermometer down for a few minutes it will give it time to tell if freezing or not.

Probably misidentified the ghost room due to ghost wandering into another room and slightly lowering the temperature there.

I've had multiple deep negative temperatures already.

Yes, and it actually is better at this than the old thermo was, where you had to sometimes wait a few seconds for a proper reading update while the -5°C or +1°C could be read right away

thats what im trying to say, the temp NEVER went below zero for ghosts that we've gotten right that had freezing temps as their evidence.

That might be because they're roaming. The temperature continues to drop as the ghost is in the area.

One issue I've had with the numerous freezing ghosts I've had is that I keep getting ghosts that can't settle on a ghost room... like I've had an Obake in Bleasedale for the challenge that popped around the foyer, one of the upstairs bedrooms, the upstairs hallway, the upstairs bathroom and back and forth.

It was moving so much that even getting to 5 degrees temp was inconsistent.

I'm actually wondering if the roaming is bugged.

we played in tanglewood for two hours, never had weather that would make the temps lower, ghost never changed ghost room. misting breaths appeared as they should but we literally just played a game and the ghost was a demon, freezing temps was the last evidence and the temps never dropped below 4 degrees,

and to add to this, we even tested the thermo in other rooms, every adjacent room the temps would rise besides in the ghost room.

yes, please give them that info in the bug report forum

this happened to me. I got all 3 evidences, confirmed freezing on thermo and it was clear from my breath, but when I completed, it said the ghost was actually a Thaye.

I've had a ghost that spent 9 minutes in a 37 minute investigation outside its room. I wonder if that is too much.

had ghost that should have freezing temp

but i did not have ice breath + temp not freezing.

Congrats, you didn't find the ghost room in the first place.

I don't think roaming is bugged, I think it's a byproduct of them adjusting the Ghost's AI priority for activities - they lowered the priority on interfering with doors because it was overriding other actions too much - there's usually an abundance of doors and door-like things to mess with near the ghost room on most maps so ghosts were spending a lot of their action time on those, which kept them near the ghost room even on high roaming settings. With the new tweak I think ghosts are "correctly" roaming off to do other actions further away more often. I'm no expert by any means, but that seems to be what's happening.
