"MUH IMMERSION, I WANT SCOOBY DOO VA"
I don't think you know what any of you want lol
Let's just be honest, if this was flipped around to where they went from a more accurately operating Box to one featuring spooky voices going "Imma get 'cha!" like it used to be, there'd be a thread full of people saying this same exact thing calling it "Cringe, BRO" and crying about immersion.
The entire streamer thing is a non issue for most normal people not terminally connected to Twitch or Youtube.
Devs honestly need to pull a Hakita and just ignore everyone regarding updates at this point unless it's balancing or game breaking issues.
Now, give me my clowns~
Thank you for your reply.
Form where I see, it's a made up video .
The old sprite sounds box feel much better for me, They make the ghost sounds more human than AI.
PS: There are no ghost in real life ( A person who died and came back as ghost ) I am 9000% sure about.
However, there are Jins /Devils who can speak like human. look around for it, you will be surprise !
regardless of how real or fake the video is, that is how the item referred to as a spirit box works, its basically just changing radio stations faster than people can, like the scan feature in your car cranked up to 10X+ the speed
Regardless of if it's "Made up" or not, this is how they operate, by rapidly scanning frequencies while people listen for bits of dialog they then conflate into "evidence" of the afterlife.
When in reality it's just a bunch of snippets of nothing and people looking for what they want.
The modern day spirit bottle, table tipping or hat game as it were.
This is video of the "P-SB7T", one of the popular models featured in game doing exactly that.

And just like snake oils of old, you can buy this very cheap and simply circuit bent radio for way too much everywhere online to test for yourself lol
The bulk of complaints in this thread don't seem to mind that the radio uses radio snippets for the ghost to communicate. Some do miss the creepy ghost voices. But the loudest response in this thread knows that it's big Phasmo streamers that the devs enjoy and are specifically allergic to that, squealing like a dropped baby even though it ultimately just sounds like radio voices 🤷
As a note: A call it psuedo-science not because I disbelieve in ghosts (I'm undecided leaning toward belief). but because ghost hunting as a whole is riddled with credulous and passionate amateurs alongside with a number of convincing frauds. Most of whom have heard the term "scientific method" but rarely have more than a passing familiarity with what that actually is.
i do like ideas that include content creators in a game, as a tribute to their support. ive seen it being implemented very nicely in star valor for example.
but the old voices fit into the enviroment, while the new ones do not. thats the part that puts me off at moment. its the coherent experience being disrupted.
- obviously thats a subjective statement. but it should make enough sense.

I'm in favor of there being non-evidence interactions with all the main tools.
If spirit box behaved like a real-life spirit box for all ghosts and gave creepy voices for spirit-box ghosts that would be great.
similar to how EMF 2-4 or temperatures from 0-5 degrees are non-evidence interactions. or how video cameras can catch moving objects on camera
UV used to have one with footprints... which actually I appreciate that change because it makes certain rooms easier to deal with... but it would be nice to start seeing use cases for all the gear even in no-evidence runs.
Like, ultra cringe. Like WoW horde players thinking Alliance players are losers. Yeah, they're losers for playing WoW. Just. Like. You.
