Cheating on phasmophobia...
Hello ! I'm opening this discussion since it's more than unbearable to have to put up with cheaters!

I'm fed up with having to go and find profiles, report them to Steam and surely have no sanction following our report...

The worst is that today, two cheaters came, speedhacked, and we had to search for them, but the WORST! It is that they put forward their community of cheaters and their software.
It would be better to put the VAC and to be able to choose if the session is protected by VAC or not!

And add BattlEye or EasyAntiCheat or whatever anti-cheat solution...

What do you think? I can't take it anymore, fortunately it's not every day, but it's at least 4-5 times a month... And NEVER the same ones, or new accounts! (Because yes, cheap accounts are easy to find!)

Albeit im not sure how feasible it is to develop this.

I think it can be done, but will the developers want to do it, that's another thing.

GTA V does it well, but it's not the same budget and the same team behind it I agree.
(Even if GTA V is the most cheater game in the world let's be honest).
The thing that is annoying is that it's enough that the cheaters don't want to go back into the van and the game is totally ruined. That being able to expel them would be practical too! LOL!

Are you talking about people using external programs to cheat, or people exploiting glitches in the game? Well, either way, the devs just need to either add vote-to-kick or let the host kick players mid-game. It's an extremely simple solution.

People using external programs such as mods.

This is misleading. The current plan is to not include any 3rd party anti-cheat software, but that doesn't mean there are no measures in place against more severe hacking. But the problem still exists of course. A report system is planned for future but it's probably not going to arrive before progression updates.

I seen a player called dÎscórd.gg/whis99 as a level 21,000,000. To be honest if you have to cheat at this game then it is because you can't handle it and just shows the rest of us you are worst then an amateur. I don't believe the developers will do anything until they get the features they want for the game such as tools, maps, character development and other essential things that make a game good. Cheaters have always been around and little kids/wanna-be script kiddie hackers will always think its cool to showoff a useless what they perceive as skill or talent.

Sorry, but when you see guys crossing the maps, spawn cursed objects, kill you when they want, give themselves level several millions, it's SERIOUS!

Especially since Steam's VAC solution would be good enough.

But if the developers don't want to do anything, that's their problem, they'll lose the community after a while.

At least do the minimum to block, or limit this style of cheat because it is abused.

Too bad for a game I recommend.
Then kick the cheaters, they cant rejoin.

I've never once played with randoms, and every time I check the forums I'm reminded of why it's a good idea to stay that way.

Nah, public matches are actually really fun. I've got 100+ hours in this game and have only ever encountered 2 cheaters. Even the OP here said he only sees a cheater like once a week, and I feel like even that is an exaggeration. Literally just kick them or leave the game and it's not a problem.
Just being able to kick players as a host would solve this problem

I feel like the ability to kick would likely be exploitable by cheaters and griefers.

I agree but if there's a cheater in the game, the match is ruined anyway. as long as there are no consequences to getting kicked other than missing out on the game to avoid abuse by hackers, it would at least give players a way to fight back.

True but if they could somehow kick mid game you would lose items theoretically if you invested into that round. But otherwise I 100% agree being able to fight back. tbh makes a huge difference.

Well if you get kicked, you should hopefully get your items back.

The game is not hard, and the whole fun of the game is not even about beating other players. Money isn't important after a while either, having tons of items doesn't even do anything, and high level means nothing.

Feel sorry for them, they probably have such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ little life that they need to leverage their lack of skill on such a easy game. Look for friends to play with or play solo like me - problem fixed.
The fact that they feel the need to chat in multiplayer for unity games in general shows a lack of self-esteem in themselves as a person and would rather attract attention as a troll.
