Ghosts not giving virtually any evidence?
Like EMF, Writing, etc. Probably a good 50% of the rounds I play, we usually only get one sign of evidence and then ghost basically says "up yours" for anything else, making us play for well over a half hour even in Tanglewood just trying to find evidence. This will happen even when we find where the ghost room is... Anybody else experiencing this or know a fix? When this happens, what we usually do is just guess what it is and hope for the best.

Make it mad

Already tried! All that does is nothing or makes it hunt and one of us dies! Neither option really helps with the investigation process..

Make it mad, but then DON'T die.

Sometimes you have to rule out stuff by negatives. Have a single person in the dark with a spirit box asking questions like "Where are you" and "How old are you". If you get "Nothing Detected" for more then a minute of repeating the question, then you can rule out the box.

If the temperature never drops below 3 degrees you can rule out freezing temperatures.

Fingerprints are pretty much always a given on the ghosts room light switches or doors.

They are all alright except for sink objectives I find.

The thing is you have to expect to deal with a few hunts to get everything you want.

Be sure you are actually finding the exact room it's in, a new mechanic was added where, ANY area near the ghost is going to drop in temperature, even areas it wanders to(not it's room) you will only get evidence from it's favorite room. So say it wanders down the hall every so often near a living room, it may mislead you to set up in the wrong room which would explain why you are not getting evidence.

if we know it wanders down a hall, we move set ups every few minutes to a different room.

I will counter, dont make it mad. You only make it mad if you want more manifestations for photos of the stop hunt with crucifix objectives.

Else, focus on location. Do not be just saying their name. Ask to show a sign. Perhaps something will turn on or off or move. Listen for sounds. Confirm the room first.

Thermometer can help with that, but verify surrounding. Were you in the room or reading adjacent side of wall of where actually is?

So we do a multi step on a hunt. Thermometer is a surefire, but in ambiguous? Salt. Put a sprinkle of salt in each potential and watch for disturbances. Keep the lights on for your path, turn lights off as you clear areas to protect circuit breakers.

If you have a high level of confidence, toss a book down, and look around for fingerprints. Windows, doors and switches. If a light is toggled, or a door moves/head moving and no prints? Then you can be confident is none. Also, don't be too overzealous on tossing down a crucifix. Some ghosts go less active with that or if groups.

Put a video camera down. Turn off lights, start asking direct questions on spirit box. "Where are you, how old are you, what do you want" and watch for "Not Detected" Lights off. Do it alone as that seems to make them more active, especially shy ghosts. If they will spirit box, they will ask fast. But is probably the most tense part of hunting since can speak or show self plus are in pure darkness. Give it not too long or it will nuke sanity.

Now if you plan, you will have an EM meter and book both in site of the video camera. So you can watch for ghost orbs, writing and EM spikes all at the same time. Ask for signs or to show themself to try and get that bit of EM reading.

Be generous with smudging. If you are asking for or aggrivating, smudge the room. Have the crucifix down if you spirit boxxed.

Does it sound a bit meta? Maybe. But a good and consistent strategy will keep mind calm for if a hunt happens. The game doesnt get less scarier for it. Panic is replaced by tension though.

Gotta know how each thing REALLY works, Have you seen the ghost orb? If you dont know what your looking for you may never see it. Moving camera positions after checking awhile is also key, and wide room shots.

Start with thermometer its the easiest, take 2-3, then emf around, once identified the room drop a camera and and ghost writing book.

Also you must absolutely utilize the evidence portion of the journal, once you have 2/3 evidences you can look through the types to see what it could possibly be, you could be looking for spirit box forever when thats literally not a possibility.

use all your tools, utilize the truck, really specialize each member with specific items, youll get it

If you're not using max amount of gear you can then do so. Increases your chances of finding evidence. What I mean use 2 ghost writing books instead of one and etc. :) EMF readers work better if you move around.

unless of course the ghost is in the attic of the farm house. You have to be extremely careful making it angry there because if he spawns between you and the stairs, you're dead no matter what you do. And virtually no room for fingerprints there.

1) Some ghosts hide when there are too many players nearby(Shade)
2) Some ghosts are less active when light is on(Mare)
3) Some ghosts are less active when there is a cross nearby(Banshee)
4) Some ghosts are mostly active when there is a specific player nearby(Banshee)

Ask ghosts to turn on the light, to throw objects, to knock, to open a door. Then, use EMF Reader on the interacted object. There is a chance that you'll get EMF level 5 on that.

Some places work bad when it comes to interaction with the ghost writing book. Place items on top of other items(boxes, benches).

Spirit box will only work when you're physically near a ghost. Listen to his footsteps and move there, and ask questions.

If you're not getting much interaction, then you've probably did not figure out the correct room, in the first place.

I agree with twistedmelon. This is just my personal opinion but I feel like you often get better results asking for signs and the like that saying the name or cursing at it. In fact I have had a ghost specifically react to asking for a sign by writing in a book or open a door(thus leaving fingerprints) and the like. Ghost rarely seem to directly react to their name however. Rather they just seem to seethe behind the scenes until they explode in anger several minutes later.

That's how the code works. The odds of reacting to other things go up when the name of the ghost has been said in the last 20 seconds. It just sets a flag that alters probabilities.
