Jump scares aren't boring but if they make it a non often occurence it would spice the game up, rn i never die and if i do im like well ok

Jump scares are what people use when they can't imagine how to use fear or terror correctly.
I agree in that the death animation isn't scary though. When my friends die some tend to scream while I just sit there and announce "I'm dead" and I shrug it off. For me I enjoy being hunted but once it's caught me it's just ... meh but that's okay.

Subnautica for example doesn't use jump scares because the devs understand what fear & terror actually is.
Phasmophobia is in the same direction so say "NO" to jump scares

it would be great that they add new death animation, for example, they could make your character levitate then smash you into the floor or things like that

It should be a quick death , like a necksnap or something that doesn't give you time to casually tell your friends that youre dead :winter2019joyfultearsgingerbread:

The game really uses horror to scare you. Not a jumpscare.

It toys with your mind and makes you think things are going to happen when they really are not. A jumpscare isn't scary. A jumpscare(in most games) is just something popping up and making a loud sound to make you flinch and jump. When you talk about other horror games for example the Five Nights at Freddy's series(Eariler games, the newer ones are better). It's a one and done jumpscare. In phasmophobia there is no need for a jumpscare. The game already is in your head and that is what makes it scary.

I agree that the kill animation needs reworking. But I don't agree with it being a jumpscare.

I mean personally I wouldnt mind different death animations, Like honestly imagine playing VR and it snapping your neck, having the camera angle go weird etc. It wouldnt be a jump scare but the confusion would defo get a reaction. Same for other things, like being sucked into the floor, or hoisted to the ceiling and hung, That adds more to the atmosphere without it being a jump scare

You can't do that in VR. Taking control of the camera in VR makes people puke.

Maybe a bunch of random ones. Exploding head, folded in half, thrown against the wall at high speed, launched out of a window, set on fire if it's a demon :D

I really like that. It would be a lot more atmospheric to have their character killed have their dead body somehow interact with the map. Because it's more funny to watch someone die. They just look like they are getting strangled and then yeeted onto the floor.

Have a setting that lets you disable that if you are motion sick.

Exactly... pls, no jumpscares thats cheap and boring tbh. You can add jumpscares on every game if you want even in daylight with 0 fear atmosphere. The game has good atmosphere and inmersion.

Good death animation could be turn the camera to your feet and see the hands taking you out

The ghost causes you to tumble and fall onto the ground. You hear it as it moves towards you along the floor - slowly creeping up along your body. Up your chest to eventually look into your eyes as you take your last breath. With the ghost ofc, making that creepy gurgle sound *shudder*

A quick snap of the neck, giving you no time to speak as you start to fade away - Only getting glimpses of the ghost posing as you, if you died alone. Lights stop flickering as the hunt stops. But the ghost makes its way towards your friends as "you"- making nearby electrics go crazy the closer the ghost gets to them.

A ghost grabs your leg, dragging you to its room as you scream for help. You feel the dark room envelop you as you slowly fade away.

You suddently see your hands grab your friend as you start choking/beating them to death as the ghost possesses you. As your friend dies - the ghost leaves you, and you are left with little sanity due to what you have done.

I think there is alot of potential, and scary/fun ways for the ghost kill animations and interactions. Fun as in, fun to hear your friends scream as they die. Not litterally funny kill animations xP I mean, I personally would scream as I was dragged away by a ghost - but at the same time start laughing my ass off (once safe) if one of my friends got dragged away.

Imo, just like some have already said - Jumpscares are cheap and will lessen the experience. I mean it all depends on how its done atleast. A random monster suddently in your face screaming? No thanks. But thats just my personal opinion. Wouldnt be opposed to one animation like that. But only jump scares? No thanks.

different kill types could make it easier to find the ghost but it would look great. Imagine a demon hunting, pulling you inside a dark room during hunts closing the door killing you in different ways if you dont hide somewhere in 10 secs

this has nothing to do with regular motion sickness. Anything extreme will pretty much make anyone puke.
