Invisible Ghosts While Hunting
It's really annoying that the ghosts are almost always invisible while they're hunting. If I want to be able to risk my life to get a photo of the ghost during the hunt, I should be able to. But I'll just instantly die out of nowhere even though the ghost is nowhere in sight. Sure, there's heartbeats, but a lot of the time you only get like half a second warning from that and it doesn't help.

TLDR: Make the ghosts always visible while they're hunting.

if you need hunting just so to get a photo of the ghost. u are doing it wrong.

they are visible when hunting more often than not for me, but it is annoying that they go invisible sometimes. i'd like a threat like that to always be visible, but then again others probably want it to be scarier.

Normally they kind of flicker for me as they hunt. Like they'll be visible most the time but sort of pop in and out of existence as they move. Sound is usually the best indicator if you can't see them. Unless it's a wraith you can usually hear their footsteps even if you don't hear the heartbeat or gurgling (though the heartbeat and gurgling mean they can see you just as well as you can...or can't...see them). If you happen to have the thermometer that can also help you figure out if it's coming up on you, even easier if it's a freezing temps ghost and you notice your breathe outside of the ghost room.

If you don't see them at all but know it's not a revenant or jinn, just keep moving if you can't hide. You can outrun basically all other ghosts, and the jinn to if you have the breaker off. Just mind your corners, they'll take the most direct path to you if they can see you, so if you take a corner wide you can give them space to catch up to you in. I've managed to play ring-around-the-rosey around a dining room table with some ghosts because it wanted me so badly and I wasn't able to hide. It's not the safest approach to dealing with hunts, but it's better than nothing when you aren't able to get away from them.

Phantoms are visible every 1-2 seconds, 0.3-1 seconds for all other ghost types.

You have to be lucky to get a good photo of a ghost during it's hunting phase. Try to do it while it's not trying to kill you.

There is the full body apparition, the silhouette, and the shadow.
The 1st is pretty much them
2nd is where it is them in a black solid figure
The 3rd on is where they are invisible, but if they are near walls you can see their shadows blink in and out against it.

This is what I gathered personally

It seems pretty common that people don't get pictures until it starts hunting, but it definitely isn't the best way to do thing. Honestly, if someone said they just wanted to the camera guy and stayed in the room with two photo cameras and did nothing else but take pictures, I would be fine with that. The ghost nearly always shows itself several times before hunting, just often there isn't anyone with a camera near by.

You can actually still snap a photo of them when they are in the invisible shadow.

Yeah the invisible thing is just hella annoying, it was bad enough when it was just their shadow.

Getting a photo during a hunt is always a gamble and a last resort. Generally only go for that if you want to style on the game or have gotten a ghost that has decided it's never doing an event.

You do realize at low visibility (with the new update) and with a flickering flashlight this means the ghost is nearly impossible to see until a fraction of a second AND you hope its not the new "glass ghost" model.

My point being those numbers are great and all but unless you're cheesing the game with high gamma/brightness the amount of visible information available to a player is simply too low to call this a working mechanic.

My guess is that the difficulty rework is being done prior to the reward and objective rework at last partially so that they can have a better idea how to adjust the existing rewords.

We know they think the current rewards are lackluster as one of the dev comments is literally "no one should risk their life for $10".

So look for them to monitor how the difficulty works, probably success/fail stats and such and then adjust the value of the reward accordingly.
