It logically would make sense, too, since activating a light is a bad idea for a mare and a jinn obviously wouldn't want to disable his own special ability.
Doesn't seem to be the case, though, which is regrettable. Using secondary clues to guess the nature of the ghost is fun, so it's a shame some of the logical conclusions don't pan out.
yeah, i'm hoping this is something that'll get fixed at some point. the ghosts have that lovely flavor text but when it comes down to it they all play basically the same and it's rather disappointing.
You can still tell which type of ghost you are dealing with based on its behaviour. Just don't try to guess based off of light switching or turning on/off the breaker. You have to look at different things like activity, how much it interacts with objects, how much is it showing itself etc.
Those are all not really things that allow definitive conclusions, since those are things all ghosts can do - and the degree to which they do is - beyond initial type values - randomized.
What's more helpful is stuff unique to ghosts. Poltergeists and their "throw all objects" skill as well as its throw force (-5,5) instead of the default (-2.5,2.5) is one, or shutting multiple doors at once. Banshees hunting above 65 average sanity. No ouija board sanity loss for an answered question for demons. Sharp sanity drops without any significant experiences in a short time points to yurei. No footsteps despite a salt ocean for Wraith. Jinn & Revenant hunting behaviour. Banshee's ignoring other hunting targets. Phantoms appearing as allies.
I just hope they make mares not switching lights on and jinns not switching the fuse box off fixed parts.
