Storage Containers
So I'm in Chapter 2 (I think? I'm supposed to reduce radiation 6 times, I did the one with the settings in the game menu), and I built a basic habitation thing, but I find myself not really wanting to use it over the engineer's shuttle that has the 2 storage lockers already built into it, because I don't have any storage container blueprints. I found a suitcase near the beginning of the game, but it'd be nice to have something a bit more permanent built into the base (especially because I keep accidentally picking up the suitcase instead of opening it).

Is there one that I missed or do you have to wait and get that later?

So I found a Closet blueprint, but it will not let me build one, keeps saying "wrong module" but doesn't actually tell me what kind of module to put it in... seems weird, it's a "wall compart" but yet I can't build it into the wall of my service module despite it having empty walls. Weird.

Look at the symbol on the top-left. Heart indicates it needs to be built in a habitation module. Rocket means transport module. Gear means service module.

There are small, medium, and large variations on all modules. Just have to find the blueprints for them.

So apparently, someone in the devteam thought it'd be a great idea to make the storage closet only work with "living compartments" but yet the crafting table is considered to be a "utility" compartment, which can only go into a service module.

This means that your storage is going to be stored in a completely different area than the crafting machine. That's rather illogical and highly inefficient...

Not sure why that restriction was necessary...

EDIT: Also, do things respawn? I can't tell. Aluminum nodes do not seem to respawn, but I coulda sworn I've seen some things that look like they do respawn? Kinda worried about wasting resources that don't respawn.

Resources don't respawn. The toilet and giant tape ball do spawn endless random resources, though./
