I mean what will you do if you ever decide to get all Gold relics, especially on Stormy Ascent? Those gems are a piece of cake compared to that.
Basically the idea is "if the game won't play fair, why the hell should I?" (with "hell" replacing the F word) I only resort to that if I get stuck and walkthroughs cannot help me e.g. luck based missions like unlocking Green Hill in SA2 or having a ghost of a chance at beating the Binding of Isaac or Pro Pinball Timeshock. Normally I try to do it legit and only cheat or use walkthroughs when I give up. I'm less likely to go to actual cheats if I'm emulating and use quick saves.
Play on gamepad and only on D-pad buttons.
Please learn better grammar before posting here, you're making no sense. And no, I will play the game any damn way I want. You do not have to do the same.
I don't care for the acheivements: they're a waste of time. I just want the best ending and to unlock that, you need all the gems. The relics I think are more optional so I won't worry about them.
No I am not used to being spoonfed 100% of something, idiot. A challenge is one thing but there's a fine line between hard but fair (e.g. Super Meat Boy or Halo 1 on Legendary) and fake difficulty (90% of a lot of classic games including Crash 1, Demon Castle Dracula pre NITM/SOTN, the Binding of Isaac and almost every single graphic adventure game or Ultima RPG). Here's some hard games I can ace 100% without cheating once:
Tomb Raider 1-3 plus expansion packs, Chronicles and Tomb Raider 0 (2013)
Shadow the Hedgehog
Marathon Trilogy plus mods
Pathways into Darkness
Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3&K, Sonic CD, Advance 1 & 3 and Sonic Mania
Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame
Prince of Persia Warrior Within & Two Thrones
Sonic 3D: Flickies Island (both Saturn and PC versions)
Blinx the Time Sweeper
Quantum Redshift
System Shock 1
I did practice and have patience; the latter ran out. I said above that I only resort to walkthroughs or cheats as a last resort if I cannot improve after multiple attempts of the legit way and give up. When that happens varies depending on the game or how much failure pi.ssed me off, which also varies. Now are any of you going to give me real advice? I asked for cheats or a mod to make it easier to do it legit, not 50% pep talk and the other 50 just plain trolling.
Specifically the kind of mod that makes the colored gem challenges allow you to die and still get the gem so long as you find all the boxes including bonus zones, staying consistent with the rest of the game. That is a fair challenge, especially as the colored gem levels are hard enough. Doing it without losing a single life is not. Remakes are meant to improve the bad parts of the original and keep and/or enhance the good parts, not keep the bad parts.
Thank you. :) You are right that 100%ing is meant to be enjoyable. If it isn't and I want the rewards (such as bonus levels) from doing so anyway, then I don't do it. That's how I got Green Hill for my emulated Dreamcast version of SA2: I downloaded a 100% VMU save. I'm yet to do it on my physical machine. If there's no bonus stuff or at least no interesting ones I want or just useless achievements or a higher number on the percent complete metre, then I don't bother.
If you think colored gems are hard, then its natural relics will be harder. because you can't die at all in relics either although you dont have to get all the boxes. the colored gems are honestly a piece of cake compared to some of the other levels if you are trying for relics(as you cant die), since you can take your time slowly.
If you are not good enough to complete the OTIONAL CHALLANGES than that's it - you are not good enough at the game. You can either spent more time getting better or just leaving it at that.
Seriously - what do you such cretins even hope to achieve?
You accomplish nothing by cheating, you do not get anything at all. Just a number on the screen forever telling you that you failed to complete the game and resorted to cheating.
