Mouse Sensitivity when changing resolution
This might be a rly stupid question, but im not quite sure, thats why i wanna ask you guys about that, maybe you can help me.

so i played a long time on 800x600 (we dont need a discussion about the sense of low res here), now i want to change it to 1024x768. But i want to keep my mouse ''speed'' the same like on the other resolution.

So my question is: do i have to change my mouse sensitivity ingame to make the mouse feel the same like on my old resolution? and if yes, how much do i have to change it?

would appreciate some serious answers.

best regards.

Honestly, I think that is a good question. I don't know the answer, but I would think that if you changed your res from something like 800x600 to 1024x768 then your mouse shouldn't change, but it might.

I guess maybe just try it while offline with bots on each resolution and see how that works. If you don't mind, please post back here to let everyone know what you find out.
No, during years of cs i switched through almost all resolutions but my sensivity remained the same 400dp/1.9 ingame
Sensitivity will stay the same in CS. The only things that affect sensitivity is its setting, and your mouse's DPI.

Whenever you want to migrate settings and keep your sensitivity, use http://mouse-sensitivity.com. It also gives notes if there's anything to watch out for.

ye thats what i was thinking too, cuz its obv when the resolution (pixels/digits) got higher you need more dpi (digits per inch) for the same distance. Just didnt have been sure bout the sensitivity...

And the site of #3 is quite perfect to calculate the change.

Thanks guys!
I must disagree I switched during years through several monitors now I'm playing on a 27" monitor with 1600/900 resolution and before that on a 22.5" monitor 1024/768 and my ingame sensivity is the same.
If you change your sens according to resolution that's bad because you will lose your aiming skills.
I've heard that when using 4:3 and 16:9 your sensitivity changes a little

I used 4:3 and 16:9 a lot (to try out 75hz which was only on 1024x768) and it was the same sensitivity and same muscle memory twitch-shooting as I had in 1080p.

It might be because judging distance in pixels might be a little different, or that a stretch on the monitor in 4:3 was used.

ur a necromancer :o
I came here because it does change. It def feels different going from 1080p to 4k. I have to move my mouse a little more to turn the same distance in 4k. Came here wondering if there is some exact adjustment that can be made to make them the same.

No. You don't need to change your mouse sensitivity.

so i dont know when i was jumping between resolution on GT 710 it was fine and now upgraded to 3060 TI and for the same mouse and in game setting related to sensitivity i cant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aim
(1/((800*600)/(1280*720)))^(((1+((1280/720)/2))/2)/(1280/720))

Multiply this on your cpis/dpis. For example, 400 would be 565

you can try this aswall if you want
(1/((800*600)/(1280*720)))^((1)/(1280/720))

Or
try theeesh

((1/((800*600)/(1280*720)))^(((1/(log(16,9)))/(800/600))/(1280/720)))

and/or

((1/((800*600)/(1280*720)))^(((1/(log(1280,720)))/(800/600))/(1280/720)))

log(16,9) is 16/9 relation (log base 16 of 9)
