Spectate friends live on MM
Why isnt there an option like this already? Big games like Dota 2 has it and it would encourage a lot of new players to play the game.

If you are waiting for your friend to finish a game you can simply jump into the game and live spectate/guide him.

Beginners are going to get stomped and then quit because there are so many basic things to learn if you are new to the entire CS scene, but if you know someone who is pretty decent you will learn things that else would have taken you 20 games when you live spectate/get spectated and can communicate the entire time.

This is already possible with twitch but then you have to have a good enough computer/connection to be able to play and let the viewer have a decent quality when they watch you and you would be surprised how bad computers people play on.

So why isnt there an option like this yet?

EDIT: Your view is locked to your friends view is what i am saying for those who dont understand. When i said friend earlier, i literally meant spectate your friend. Only see what he sees.

Steam Broadcasts? Spectator mode? GOTV?

There is 3 options to achieve what you want.

Do you really want to ruin MM with ghosting?

You can spectate your friends.
It's been this way for ages.

He said live which means no delays at all (GOTV's are delayed by 2-3 rounds)

Well, yeah - that was implemented with a reason, as you said; ghosting. Different games need different approaches

AAH, I actually didn't know this.

Are you really that dumb? You wont have xray or anything else, you will only see what your friend sees.

My god people are dumb.

Apparently I am. But you could also specify what exactly you've in mind without insulting the world when they can't read your mind, as you can see - I'm not the only one thinking ghosting would be a problem, and that's more the lack of you explaining it than everyone in this thread being dumb, I bet.

I think i explained it pretty well in the first post. It kinda troubles me that people actually are this dumb.

MM is random, you dont know who the opponents will be. The chances that Your friend will first spectate you, Then tell the random opponents about your whereabouts are very very slim. If you try to message someone in the opposite team when you spectate your friend, you cant unless he is on your friendlist. Do you see how small the chances are of ghosting?

For ghosting to happen you first need a friend that really isnt your friend, then you need that guy to know the random opponent in the other team.

What im saying is that only your friends can live spectate you, and you can simply turn it off from options if you dont want to have any live spectators.

As i have now demonstrated, the chances of ghosting are minimal. For those that still are afraid of it ( even though you can turn it off from options so that you dont have any live viewers), ghosting isnt much compared to the cheaters running free.

In your first post you didn't mention anything about not being able to watch other players, just that you should be able to watch it live. Hence people jumping on the ghosting-aspect.

I'm still confused you're calling people dumb, when there is no reason to. And I strongly suggest you stop doing it and learn to conversate in a more normal manner, which you seem perfectly able to do.
I don't see the point, you can watch friends' games with GOTV. Of course with a delay. Ghosting in Competitive would be a major issue. Obviously you can still see what your friend is doing wrong, so you can still give tips.

CS:GO is the most newbie friendly CS ever and looking at the player peek (400,000+) quitting doesn't seem to be a problem.

I dont think you understand that you could just get a friend to spectate the enemy team and get them to tell you where people are, that way you could easily rank up... so no you're the dumb one if you want this to happen..

Spectating with the delay is fine as theres no way of ghosting could happen, and you can still watch your friend play, as it will only be 1 round behind what it would be if it was live
