Why do people hate the auto sniper?

I personally never use it because the M4/AK is superior to it in every range except long range, but you have an AWP for that already that costs less and kills someone in 1 shot. but when someone uses it, people start calling it gay gun, noob ♥♥♥♥♥♥, etc. am i missing something here?

This. Unlike the AWP the gun takes almost no skill to use. It's the same reason people still hate the p90. It's a gun that too easy to use and takes almost no skill. Still a skilled AWPer can out snipe a auto sniper.

I dislike snipers in general. Why? Because I find them boring to use, getting easy kills from the distance. The only sniper rifle I would use is the Scout.

In silver/nova, since no one can effectively twitch headshot, the amount of time given to the auto to shoot the other person makes it much more effective than in any decent game.

When going up against anyone with any sort of skill the auto drastically underperforms. Also remember it costs ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 5k and if you lose it you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ especially if you're not winning by a landslide.

If you're not in a silver game, the literal only use for it is denying rushes, (since the awp does all its other uses better) but even that takes luck since they have to actually rush where you are. I've seen aces with autos in DMG games on nuke ramp, but that's rare. Most of the time people with autos just get AK headshot before they even get a shot off.

It's a waste of money and the basic m4/ak is almost always a better buy.

I can confirm this. I am Nova 2 (nearly 3 i guess, playing with 3s more often lately).
Although i would say that Nova barely uses Autosniper. My Team (AUTomatix) somehow likes to play autosnipe and stay at the spawn, just spraying there. But you can see how they perform, being silvers.

If you are a skilled player you counter a p90 or a auto easy ...
In fact good players are happy if some one picks an auto or a p90 not situational he is an easy kill...

I love using the auto-snipers because it turns grown men into crying little school girls. And the more they cry about it the more I want to use it.

They normally start crying "Whaaaa.. why are you using dak-dak in deathmatch noob..whaaaaa sob sob"
To which I usually reply "Wipe those tears away and toughen up princess".

Bottom line - If someone elses weapon choice makes you cry, please uninstall and go back to COD.
