Why is this community so unbelievably toxic...?

And it's shocking how common it is in CS:GO specifically. I know some people say other games have much worse communities but I've legitimately never seen such putrid toxicity before.

I can't go into a game without someone having a problem with something. It's just...shocking.

Call me a snowflake but it breaks my heart how some of my friends legit can't play this game without having anxiety, especially those part of LGBTQ+. The moment one of them says anything they immediately get flamed and there's nothing you can do.

Mute them, sure, but muting them doesn't stop them from starting to troll the entire game. I had a game with a friend part of LGBTQ+ and one guy on our team really had a problem with that for some reason so he just started throwing.

Yup, this. I played CoD MW (new one that came out last year) for a bit. Literally every single lobby of SnD is FILLED with trash talkers who eventually rage quit when they're about to lose.

CS:GO isn't nearly as bad as CoD. Especially with Trust Factor. Most my games are filled with nice people. CoD was just non-stop kids yelling the n-word on the enemy team and trash talking us.

I have no idea. Every time one of my friends, especially trans ones, speaks - they immediately get called "disgusting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" and griefed/trash-talked the entire game.

Granted it is relatively uncommon but still common enough to the point where it bothers them and they'd rather not play the game unless they have someone to queue with.

game gives you the tools to prevent any of this, you can mute, hide profile pictures, and only talk about gameplay during the match while just ignoring legit anything else that your randoms give you
