Win Streak "ruined", lose chance of ranking up?

I won 8-9 games in a row , felt i was so close to ranking up. Then, just recently, I played with 3 trolls who did nothing but grief, teamkill, and mess with us. I lost, ending my 8-9 game win streak. Am i screwerd on ranking up? Will i have to grind all those wins back to rank up? I am frustrated that wins/loss determine rank and not individual performance...

They don't, so you got nothing to worry about.
Just play well, and you'll rank up. Play bad, and you'll rank down.

Depends on how badly you lost. The elo system doesn't like to be consistent, so it might not even bother you at all :P

Tbh, the ranking-up system in this game is really messed up.

Everything in me wants to say that you will have to grind to rank back up, but just earlier today I got a rankup that (if thats the kind of way the system works) I did not deserve. Doing horrible, getting hard carried and then we tie and I get ranked up. Its bizzare.

You probably will have to grind, but as someone on these forums said to me long ago "Gaben will rank you up when you deserve the rankup, which will be soon enough"

You don't need win streaks, at all. You can lose a match, win the next and rank up.

Your ranking is all about round wins/losses, not match win streaks.

It does make sense actually.

Round wins/losses and mvp's, that's what it's about. So you individual score only matters if you actually win the rounds.

yeah i ranked up the other day on a draw and same i had a realy bad game ..
some times games where u report hackers get elo reversed to so that helps if u were hacked on u could get elo back if he gets comvicted and same goes for a hacker on your team if u win it may not count if he gets a ban the points are deleted

so ppl please report these scumbags for griefing and hacking even if they are on your team make this a even ranking system its not perfect with the smurfs buy we need the hackers out valve please do another vac wave its realy bad at MGE

Stop thinking this is some kind of win streak or level system and start focussing on improving your game. You will advance to the next skill level group when you're actually good enough.
