nobodys trying to get an advantage from it.
we do it cos mouse movements feel diff and thats all.
mostly cos older games had a feel more similar to stretched res.
stop getting info from youtube.
youtubers tell you what u want to hear as they get money from it.
they have no clue.
your point would be valid in 120 fov scenarios but thats not the case in counterstrike at all.
modern games rather favor high fov than low.
for trolls ill turn it around on you.
stop trying to get vision advantage on high fov and play the game like the rest of us.
all uninformed bs.
Make the pixelcount. It is a fact that it is advantageous, especially on lower end esport screens with 21,23,27inch, meanwhile on 16.9 your eyes need to be inside of your screen, theres a reason alot of good players sit so close in front of it.
And the game design of Cs2 is beneficial to 4:3 stretch, since it doesnt change the FOV in a way that enemy playermodels do not get wider than on 16:9, same with the mapdesign and gamepace.
Valorant is the only equal game in terms of design but that does also fight stretched resolutions, meanwhile with 3rd party program and 21:9 screen you can get it a little bit back, just that not many use ultrawide at comp games due to pricetag and those screens delivering a bad overview requiring constant eye movement, hence wrecking your pixelfocus like watching the minimap at the wrong timing.
You use that aspectratio in order to allow your eyes to see as fast as possible any enemy movement, it is way more difficult on native resolutions and small screens.
On a 48 inch TV you do not need to care but even there… just how do you carry an TV to a Lan? Does it support native 240+ Hz? Nope.
I also would like to play at the very least at 1080p res, but since stretch makes it easier to react, i rather watch at these horrible graphics and sell my cs skins due to them beeing entirely useless with these poop graphics, than not beeing able to enjoy the game at all.
If my TV had 240Hz refreshrate i wouldnt use my old trash zowie/benq „esport“ garbage, cuz everything looks absolutly awful on this outdated piece of LCD Technology.
Thats how i fixed it
