Is this the end for OG CS:GO as CS2 hits?

Speculation thread. Will they close down CS:GO in it's previous state.
Make it still available to play what do you think? As many say that CS2 is it's own game in it's own respect. Will we be able to keep playing CS:GO in it's latest form before CS2 hits?

Find this a difficult question as both CS2 and CS:GO are merched within the same branch of game. So it would seem to me that they would more like to treat it as a natural evolution rather then new entire game branch and therefore split the playerbase?

I mean after all maintaining 2 server types for both old and new CS should be to expensive for a long time. So it would seem more reasonable to me that with the update old servers will get migrated to new CS2 servers and therefore CS:GO be left in the dust as a second launch option or seperate title in your libary. Don't know still don't have access ^^

Valve has stated that cs2 will replace the existing game (replacing it like a big update)
They might keep both games running shortly after release but I think they will just completely replace it upon launch. Otherwise CSGO players would need to find the CS2 game on the store and download it instead of just opening CSGO and it automatically updating to CS2
