Why is the first rank i got silver elite master at 10 wins?

I am preety new to csgo i have only 74 hours and i am not 100% sure how ranks work. Like are they based on skill or on wins?

Your performance matters. It's common for people to get high silver after 10 wins.

Be thankful they didn't put you into MG like they sometimes do.

a combo of skils and wins like hs% kd then add the wins and boom theres ur rank

bro, if they put you in a silver you are lucky, if they put you in a high rank you would most likely unlucky. You know when people said "rank doesn't matter, skill do". When you are a silver you could learn many things from peoples, don't get yourself greedy on ranks, just don't, you had to learn many things thru ranks, higher rank higher skill needed.

i know, but the thing is when peoples are in silvers they will learn individual skill more than team play skill, they will play solo until they reach gold nova 2, except if they have friends. the most important thing people who are new to csgo is their individual skill, forget about teamplay we talking about individual skills here haha.
