Try lowering your max ping to 10 or 15

I think 50 is lowest.

No, changing max ping will not affect server location much

You can see which servers you connect to by reviewing the console after you join a match (just join a casual match to get the info).

Server using 'public' lobbies, requiring pw no, lobby id ffffffffffffffff
Associating NetChan CLIENT (=[A:1:4160224264:14728]:0) with Steam Net Connection handle ed1b6378
Connected to =[A:1:4160224264:14728]:0

Look for something like

[#4245582135 SDR server steamid:90135248082350085(vport 0)] Selecting sto2#335 (155.133.252.51:27049) as primary. (Ping = 126+0=126 (front+back=total).)

[#4245582135 SDR server steamid:90135248082350085(vport 0)] Selecting sto#77 (162.254.198.43:27031) as backup #1 (Ping = 127+0=127 (front+back=total).)

sto and sto2 are the locations I'm connecting to (because that is how I have my filters set up for connecting to servers). Both are Stockholm.

Summary of connection to #1551708714 SDR server steamid:90135253551574017(vport 0):
End-to-end connection: connected
Remote host is in data center 'lux'... So does it mean Luxemburg?

It does. I'll post the firewall rule to block that on your profile in a couple minutes.
