Wingman sucks. Here's why.

I've been playing Wingman quite a lot recently, usually around MGE, and here are a few reasons why Wingman is literally the worst part of CS:GO right now, and some suggestions how to fix that.

1. So. Many. Cheaters.

The amount of cheaters in Wingman is incredible, even when compared to the cheaters in normal competetive. Additionally, playing with or against the cheater renders the entire match useless, unlike in normal mode. In competitive play, somebody using wallhacks might be annoying and tilt the game to one or the other side, but in Wingman, winning against cheaters is basically impossible. It's extremely hard to recover from a lost pistol round, economically speaking, and as only 8 rounds are played per half of the game, cheaters just need to win 1 or 2 to ensure you won't even be able to buy a proper weapon. Cheating has always been a problem in CS:GO, but in Wingman, it's so much more obvious as well as so much so disruptive. Also, how will a cheater amass enough reports to be considered for an Overwatch case? Usually, my teammate leaves as soon as the cheating is clear, so the cheater will get one or at best two reports per game. Valve, please do something about this.

2. The bots suck.

I really don't know why, but Valve did not change the bot A.I. for Wingman games. This means that around 50% of the time, the bot will try to get to an inaccessible part of the map and not even collect info, while also being easily found due to continued jumping. This renders the bot not only useless, but worse than that, as he will often give the enemy team a weapon they might actually use. Once again, Valve, just adapting the maps a tiny bit more would be enough to make the bots understand that they can't go B on Inferno, no matter how hard they try. You can do better than this.

3. Smurfing is huge in wingman.

In case you didn't know, in Wingman, you can queue with any friend of any rank. If I wanted to, I could play with a GE, which would put me more or less against DMG+, which is hard for me and suuuper easy for the GE player. This is just plain ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and it happens so much. In my opinion, Valve should just implement the same feature as for normal competitive play, even though they could make it a bit less strict for Wingman. I just don't see why I would want to play against a MG1+LEM team with my randomly assigned MGE partner. Simple problem, easy fix.

In conclusion, my experience with wingman has been quite horrible, playing mainly matches with some kind of cheating or smurfing happening. I have to admit, i played a few games with my LEM friend, and it was kinda fun, but it still shouldn't be allowed. I can imagine cheats being interesting as well, and wrecking the entire enemy team without being punished for it later is a lot easier in Wingman. The game mode is so fun when played properly, but it seems that that is not in the interest of most players who play Wingman. Personally, this makes me angry as well as sad, and I just don't see why, apparently, nothing is being done about it. Valve, please fix.

Same here. I've been playing wingman for a couple months now, and I've yet to meet a cheater. Currently playing at MG lvl

Same here. I've been playing wingman for a couple months now, and I've yet to meet a cheater. Currently playing at MG lvl

I even prefer it over normal comp. Much more intense and tactical. Also shorter .. so when you have a bad day and game you dont waste 40 minutes.

I just gave up today on Wingman, 6 wins one loss, I deranked from MG2 and my buddy from MG1, then he deranked again randomly (didn't play during the night) from GN4, then one win one loss we both deranked AGAIN from MG1 and GN3.

As messed up as the comp ranking system might be, it's nowhere near that terrible.

i played wingman through 2019 and climbed from mg to le and in 2020 i lost my rank. I thk 3months ive been trying to get my rank back but nothing. I lost like 20 games in a row due to a solo queue. Teammate calls u a noob, easily tilts, opponents dont give a fak and troll u saying u think im cheating i have 1600€ inv (pref ire 1taps u over every corner), and in that game my teammate wanted me to get vac banned cause i didnt want to play with cheater and i was constantly exiting game back and forth cause i dont want to get cooldown. But csgo wingman wrld (as well as dm) is so fakin retardinhod (this aint a word but retar* gets blanked for some reason). If u have a nice guy like my italian friend then u can really have fun he is like entry fragger, im supporter (same in comp) and ive got to say it works well, but this is terrible. You remember how cheap knives were back in the day when compared to now??? Same goes for wingman solo q.
Not saying comp is sth better, but there aren't that much cheaters at all and i tend to play faceit more.
