Loading up my surface pro for the end of the world.
Easily play the unenhanced one but the store page for this reqs a lot higher.

Absolutely, it's way more demanding. You could run the first one on a potato, but this one, given the former's low standards, is quite higher.

You can look for the respective requirement in the steam store but roughly speaking the minimum requirement are much higher for the enhanced version. 4gb ram instead of 1, much newer 7 year old DX11 vs 12 year old DX9 gfx card, etc.

As far as I can tell the new version is just not optimised well and will never run quite as smoothly as the original, no matter how good the system.

I think it's more a question of video RAM, as the textures are larger... I haven't seen it tax my CPU more than the original.

I have a 4GB RAM, i3-3120M 2.5 GHz, and Intel HD Graphics 4000 laptop, specs are way below its minimum requirements, but I still get a solid 30 fps on average :D

Seems less demanding to me, I used to have some glitches with textures and longer loading times.

It is a little more demanding but not bad and love the mini map on screen it's so much better.
