FOREWORD:

This thread is an ongoing process, by you, the community, and if you find anything that you think would be really good to add to this thread then please do not hesitate to leave a comment in this discussion and if it's a useful link etc, I'll stick it in the headder and pop your name in the contributors list :)

..There are thousands of you helping others on the community, in all of the Forums, not just the Skyrim one. It really warms my heart to see that, please if there's anything you might know to help someone, please feel free to post a comment, everything and anything can help.

..Additionally, If you are stuck and wish to post a question on this thread, please feel free...I'm sure someone will try to help you, just please try to be patient, as people are busy at times and it may take a while. It is a good idea to prepare for it to take up to a day for a reply, though it is more common that a reply is posted within minutes.

Grimus' lil' trouble-shooter: Try this if you are stuck:
- unsub and delete workshop mods from the DATA section of splash screen.
- deactivate and delete all Nexus and "other" mods from the game.
- delete Local Content via Steam by right clicking on game from Steam Library.
- exit Steam
- delete all files in Steam>Steamapps>Common>Skyrim folder.
- delete all files in Users>(user name)>My Documents>My Games>Skyrim 
folder. (copy Saves fiolder to desktop, your saves may not work with the new install because of the mods no longer being active.)
- clean registry
- run anti-virus scan
- shutdown computer, wait a couple mins., restart computer.
- re-install Skyrim from Steam by right clicking on the game icon in your Steam library.
- verify game cache. (its safe to ignore the "1 file..." message.)
- check load order from the DATA section of the splash screen: dawnguard, hearthfires, dragonborn, HR textures 1, 2, 3.
- test game installation with new character.

NOTE: Another good start to approaching problems:

  • Creation Kit Crashes?
You must input this code into the ini folder, located in your program files:

From your Desktop, click on the: 'Start' menu> click on 'My computer'. Then Click through this file path:
C:\Drive (Or the drive that your program files are on) > Program files> Steam> Steamapps> Common> Skyrim.

In the Skyrim folder, look for a file called: 'SKYRIM EDITOR'. (NOT 'SkyrimPrefs'. It looks like a page of text with a gear wheel on it on most OS's)

Double Click on this file. Once opened, you will see a massive list of code...DON'T PANIC, this is easy now, take a breath...

The 1st category says 'General'. At the bottom of the General category, check that you see the below line of code. If you don't, then click in the space you see below the last code line, and type this case sensitive line, Letter for Letter with the Capital Letters and no spaces, (and yes,include the equals symbol too):

bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

Now, there should be a space between that line you added and the next category title, '[Audio]' like there was a space before..
This will allow the loading of other 'active-set' plug-in files, like your mods for example, as well as the loading of Skyrim's template content.

Now, the next line to add in this 'SKYRIM EDITOR' File:
Same as with the General section, scroll right down through lots of the page to get to '[ARCHIVE]' near the bottom of the file. Then, at the bottom of the Archive section, you will look for:

SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa

You should find this at the bottom of the Archive list. But it is missing something, I want you to make it look like this:

SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

Start by putting a comma after 'Update.bsa' and carry on typing this. Once you've typed that line, hit [ENTER] to make one space below this line and the new section below. When you have done that, REMEMBER TO SAVE! At the top of this file, click: 'File' and 'Save' and you're done. As you can probably tell, that second line of code enables you to load up the DLC content in the Creation Kit.

LOADING:
...You should now be ready to use the Creation Kit with no problems, loading up your mods and the Dlc content.
...Upon clicking File> Data, then when the loading window appears, check/tick the Skyrim plug-in and the other plug-ins you wish to load.
NOTE: You will need to select each additional plug-in, one by one, as an 'active file', using the button available below the plug-in list. Hit that for every plug-in you add. IT DOES NOT SELECT THEM ALL IN ONE CLICK. Master Files do not need setting as Active Files.

WARNINGS:
...Upon loading the data, the Creation Kit will also flag up warnings. Something like 'Parent space could not find data. Ignore?' ..CLICK YES TO ALL, and Creation Kit will continue to load up. Bear in mind that this can take up to a good 60 seconds to load, so there's nothing wrong with your computer, don't worry. After a few moments, you will see the contents of Skyrim populated in the object window, and you're ready to rock and roll. Please see the tutorials on how to use the kit to edit your game!....Have fun!

TK Dodge never works
Everytime I install TK doge, the animations and the MCM menu show, but everytime I use the designated key to doge in the chosen direction my character does the animations but doesnt move at all, just stays still. Anyone know how to fix this?

Aesir this is an information thread if you want personal help with a load order start a new thread and just link here asking for help.
Did you actually read through all the details in the header and work out what may help.
Getting delays probably comes from the massive Load order or tweaking the load order to add and remove mods.

Skyrim CTD near upper kynsgrove and road to windhelm
Everytime I go near this specific area, I get a crash message with this saying: "Skyrim has crashed because an object reference with form ID: 0x5d159, base form ID: 0xA7149 and type: 0x22 failed to produce loaded node most likely due to corrupted mesh or other reasons"

Probably from removing mods and continuing to play the game.

Do a test start a new game and then go to that area.
If the crash doesn't happen then you could have fun and continue playing a new game, knowing that your previous save game is borked by probably removing mods mid play through.

If crash does happen then you may have gotten your load order mucked up and need to xEdit to check for errors or Loot to check for the correct load order.

This is just a simple suggestion with so many merged mods who knows what your issues actually would be.

I'm having a weird issue with the Death Alternative mod and the ALSL Addon. Basically, when i pick the bandit capture start, when i escape from my bindings, i for some reason no clip through everything despite colliision being on with TCL having no effect, and being unable to strafe and when i turn around while moving forward, i still just move forward.

Having problems with DSR, everytime I run it both inside and outside of mod organiser 1 it just keeps saying its missing Dual sheath redux esp, plus Its fustrating to add the DSR patcher through MO as there is no way to install java 32bit and MO only supports 32bit version

- Browse to folder
- Right click file
- Add as Executable.

If you are having problems with MO Legacy, then try MO2 instead. It works with 32bit Skyrim, just as well as it works with newer games.

Your system can have both 64bit and 32bit Java installed. It is up to applications to pick the one they need.

Hmm i seem to of fixed it, i reinstalled Java, plus I think this patches for DSR was causing problems.

I just checked in MO2.

SkiyProc Patches > Dual Sheath Redux Patch > Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar is visible. Option to Add as Executable... is visible.

Sounds like you already sorted this out, but I wanted reply, so that others reading this thread will figure it out as well.

This is an excellent series of heads-up in the last few patches about MO, MO2, and the various Java and JAR descrepancies, just wanted to thanks those involved for the info. I've currently uninstalled all Skyrim and Skyrim mods, because I decided I was spending too much time modding the dang game, and other games needed to have their due.

Still, such crucial information is one of the reaons I keep subscribed to this thread, for when I decided to do another modded run-thru thru original Skyrim.

So just wanted to give you guys that attaboy, which is much deserved. Still one of the most useful and best threads on any game in Steam. Way to go. I can't say how much this thread has helped me over the years, not just for this game but any Fallout 3, NV, or Skyrim experience. Just total value in this thread.
