What are some of the trojan(effects) for?

If you're not sure what some do (which is normal since the text you learn them from is written in-theme so not always completely mechanically obvious :P), once they're installed on a machine you can open the machine info which lists all active trojans and you can use the context help to see a description of what it's doing.

oh, well it's more that when I was in zion (where I usually get new hack infos) I would read two or three or so little dudes and then assume they're ALL flavour and just speed through and not read :/

You can also catch up on things in your lore collection from the Records menu, or for the fastest way to look for something you can export all your discovered lore from that page, open it up (depending on the format you chose) and do a ctrl-f :)

And yeah there are definitely fluff conversations out there just to help with the worldbuilding, but a lot of them also give you very useful tips!
