Dominions Enhanced!


This is a compilation mod designed to enhance and expand Dominions in a variety of ways. I've tried to ensure that everything added fits with the base game in terms of tone and adherence to the existing material. It includes the following:
  • A host of new spells, items, sites, heroes, mercenary groups, units and nations
  • Over 1,000 new units!
  • Over 1,000 new spells!
  • Balance tweaking to many spells, items and Pretenders
  • Adds over 100 additional Pretender options
  • Many uncommon or rare sites gained additional effects - sites with Healing or Adventure abilities made more impactful
  • Comes with a PDF (available separately)[drive.google.com] detailing new spells and a changelog detailing Pretender and Site changes
  • Full path booster guide available here listing items and summons by path access[dominionsmods.com]
  • Adds 21 new nations based on Finnish, Arabic, Netherlands, Hawaiian, Australian, Venetian, Islamic, Native American, Benin, Tatar, Dahomey and Tibetan mythologies and cultures
  • Arena now rewards the winner with a random artifact

hello i was wondering, can i update the mod for an ongoing game ?
Generally this is a bad idea as it can cause oddities and errors. If you really want to try it you can just rename the latest mod file to the same as the one used in the game and all the changes will be applied.

Yes, generally any update that comes out after a game patch will be designed to be compatible with that version of the game.

I've fixed a few bugs and made a few tweaks to the 1.60 additions. In addition Nihuala has been updated to v2.2 (Thanks KestrelM1!) so before I upload the mod to the inspector I've released update v1.61 in the first post. The changes are listed here:

I suspect event 1119 should not have req_monster angakok.

Event 1119 is a vanilla event, but you are right it appears to be bugged. Probably need to report to Illwinter in the main bug thread. The 3702 event (and 3701 in fact) are bugged tho, I'll get that fixed for the next release.

Been throughly enjoying this mod, however found a small bug.

MA Tartary raze temple instead of converting them as it says in the description of the faction! not sure if it's a % or it should always convert though.

The Dead Ones thing isn't really a bug, but it is an unintended side effect. Dead Ones in the vanilla game are only used by the spell Vengeance of the Dead, and they have a tag to let them use normal leadership to make the spell work. I added them as a special site summon but I forgot about the tag, which does come across as a bit odd. I'll probably swap the site to summon something else so it isn't as confusing.

The Turtle Men thing is in vanilla, they are Mermen that gain fish tails in the water. The poor amphibian out of water thing is something a few creatures have to denote they have another shape or penalties out of water, it is a little counterintuitive.

Thanks for reporting, I'll give it a test and perhaps report to Illwinter if it is not working as it should.
Regarding Apotheosis, I experienced in a game that it fails if you happen to get besieged that turn. It might be good to have that listed in the spell description.

Thanks, I've updated the description to highlight this is the case.

Also, new update!

This fixes a few bugs aswell as makes some balance changes. Most Monster Pretenders gained a few points of Protection as some were struggling to really perform as expanders, and the forging Titans got a little love.

One change in this release is I redistributed the Artifacts throughout the research levels, lowering some to Construction 6 or even 4 where it seemed appropriate. A few new artifacts were added to the lower construction levels, and a bunch of new ones were added to Construction 8 to help fill the holes left by moving the lower-powered ones to lower levels. Hopefully this leads to more interesting gameplay with artifacts to fight over earlier, and also boosts the value of Construction 8 with the addition of new powerful items.

There have also been some nation tweaks, Ryugo-jo had the cost of some of it's units increased whilst C'tis, Ind, Erytheia and Pythium gained new spells.

In the current version, the newly introduced Sahuagin Village appears to be bugged - the tooltip is empty and there is no new units recruitable with or without a for present (which I assume is what the site is supposed to do, like the other village sites).
Another bug: when making the bowl of prophecy, I found I could produce it multiple times in a single turn - after which the code correctly prevented duplicates from being created. A quick check tells me this is possible with other construction 4 uniques as well.
Looks like that is one of mine and one of Illwinters. The site issue I'll fix for the next release, the multiple Uniques I'll report to Illwinter as that shouldn't be able to happen.
