For the Dom5 version I've decided to roll in balance tweaks to vanilla, mainly to boost weaker vanilla options or make weak national spells more appealing. This includes a fairly substantial rebalancing of forgeable items and a number of changes to summon spells mainly based on changes made in Summod and CBM. The mod also includes a version without any changes to vanilla content.

Here's a summary of what's in the mod:

  • Balance tweaks to many spells & items to widen the number of options
  • Reworks LA Pythium and Jomon with additional recruitable units

Yep, in the "Dominions enhanced" modpack the conflict between Magic Enhanced and EA: Juhera, the Emerald Mountain does not exist, but it does with the latest version of both of those mods as stand-alones.
Standalone mods aren't guaranteed to be compatible with each other - that's one of the reasons I put together the Dominions Enhanced mod pack.

By making sure everything in there is compatible you can use all the nations and spells in Dominions Enhanced without worrying about clashes. If you are just downloading different people's mods and using them together you might run into issues.
Does the Machaka spell Cave of the Grootslang work as intended? The pdf describes it as E2N1 and costing 5 gems but in-game it appears as just N1, 1 gem. It looks like this ends up just being an N-gem version of distill gold. Maybe that's intended, and it's just the pdf description that's off?

Also, as far as I can tell, there isn't actually any threat of Grootslang attacking, despite the description in the spell and pdf. In the mod file, I can see that the Grootslang creature is defined, that there is a province enchantment (496) that could be created by the unresearchable spell "Grootslang Hunting", and that there is a Grootslang attacks event that has a 20% chance of being triggered wherever that enchantment is present. However, as far as I can tell, there's no way for players to actually create that enchantment. Should Cave of the Grootslang have Grootslang Hunting as a #nextspell, so that casting Cave of the Grootslang then actually would create the enchantment that attracts the attacks? At any rate, this would make this more closely parallel to how you do the Tengu villages, which do work fine.

Also, I don't see any mechanism in the mod for removing this enchantment if it ever did get created. Is the intention that, once you enrage the local Grootslangs, Grootslangs will continue to attack periodically for the rest of the game? (Or perhaps for as long as you control the province / the caster is alive -- not sure how these enchantments work...) Would it be better to put some sort of timer on the enchantment, e.g., perhaps corresponding to the number of gems spent on transmutation (if the game lets modders do that)? Or to make the Grootslang attacks event also remove the enchantment (if the game lets modders do that)? Or if you can't remove the enchantment after a variable time period, would it be better to just put it on a 1-turn timer and have it trigger an event-chain that has some chance of ending in attack and some chance of ending peacefully? It might also be interesting to have the spell just create a site which itself creates an opportunity for a commander to enter or investigate to get some benefit, but to also have this activity be what triggers a chance of Grootslang attack. Or simpler, you could have the spell create (an enchantment that creates) the site, and the site itself generates both gold per turn and a chance of a Grootslang attacks event that would remove the site.

Also, just a minor point, if you are going to have a province enchantment like this visible in game, I would suggest that the name of the enchantment be "Enraged Grootslang" rather than "Grootslang Hunting". Or if you instead go with a site-creation route, "Cave of the Grootslang" could be a good name for the site.
Hmmmm, yeah it looks like there is a bug with the Grootslang spell. It always gave a one-off gold boost but I changed the spell and forgot to update the PDF.

Originally it gave a set gold boost but was altered to a version where you spend more gems for a bigger effect. The Grootslang Hunting should be a nextspell, thanks for spotting that. The intent is it triggers a delayed event that can cause a Grootslang attack on the province in 2-3 months.

I'll get the spell and PDF fixed for the next release.

Ah, whoops. That is the mod looking for a couple of sprites in the folder for Extra Pretenders rather than Magic Enhanced. I must have copied a few lines over from that mod without realising.

If you download and install either the Extra Pretenders, Pretenders Enhanced or Dominions Enhanced mods they will include those sprites and that will fix the issue.

I'll be looking to update this standalone mod once the next Dom Enhanced version is out, therefore I'll ensure this issue is fixed then. Thanks for letting me know.
I know it's been a while, but I'd like to thank you for the ongoing support for your mods. I was very pleased to see that shinuyama had the "hide heart" ritual added, and I'm quite looking forward to jump back into the game and lose track of time once more! Cheers

Magic Enhanced updated to v2.7 - this includes the last few months of updates from DE, along with some additional bugfixes. It also includes a rework of Artifacts to make a number of the weaker ones available at lower levels, along with the addition of more artifacts at Construction 8.

Hello, I am making a Custom Nation based on the Scottish merfolk myths as a sort of North Atlantic underwater nation. I would like to ask for permission to Modify or Use your Selkie art. I've been trying to make them myself, but drawing a pixel Seal that doesn't literally look like a turd has proven to be too great a challenge. Thanks for the consideration and I would be happy to give credit for it if you should so desire. Have a good one.
Well, that sprite was actually from CBM, a mod for Dom3, but as the author let me use it I can't imagine they'd have a problem.
Playing as Mekone (EA), I cast spell Release Hecatoncheire with my god, takes gems, but none of them spawn. The event doesn't say it failed or was succesful, none of the other events this turn involve it. Hope there is a way to fix, I don't care about the gems but the commander was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome and was looking forward to using it.
