1) Use mages that have lost eyes, as the number of eyes lost is stored in an effect slot. You can force this by giving slaves any magic eyes.
2) Use mages that have lost arms, as the number of arms lost is stored in an effect slot.
3) Damage reversal is a less accessible buff than the self resists but also takes a slot.
4) I'm not 100% on this, but I think disease does too? Deliberate disease by giving and removing a rod of the leper king or similar, and then using personal regen to sustain the slaves in constant battling would be another means to do this.
5) Being a pretender loses a slot.
Admittedly this has made the bar for abusing the lack of slots a lot higher, and I'm also very aware of the fact that increasing this number likely requires an extra four bytes per unit on the map (though I'm still figuring out what happened to the save structures!).
Perhaps the biggest scope for abusing the effect limit is now on pretenders. Having a titan that can't be paralysed or horror marked or stunned from shock seems like it is something that might be useful in some situations, and the fact pretenders lose one slot by virtue of being a pretender makes the limit all that easier to reach.
No one of my reported punctuation and other bugs are considered...
I reported this as a failure to update in the patch thread based on the in-game version number listed as 5.50 (Mac 64 bit). Can anyone confirm that the in game version number was updated to 5.51? If it’s a case of the devs simply forgetting to update the version number, can this vary per platform? In other words PC may be showing 5.51 but Mac shows 5.50?
now its 5.51 as it should be.

I cannot find anything wrong with the forging. But if you have a game where it doesn't work, it would be great if you could send it to me.
For me the forging works just fine. I tested it on win64 version.
