What is the relevance of the "salt vulnerability" trait for Jinn units?
Some of the units for the new EA Ubar nation have salt vulnerability, but I can't find any items or spells that would take advantage of this. Could anyone explain?

Many thanks in advance,

There is a new forgeable "Enchanted Salt" misc item that gives an AoE salt attack.

Hopefully more salt attacks (and spells!) will be added later
Ah, thank you for the quick reply

No pepper attacks?
was about to ask the same as i played not much since ind and saw that salt stuff.... i understand iron, but why such extreme special snowflake stuff like salt? will this get expanded to say river-animals like crocos (so annihilating ctis with salt) like the more generic mythological ironweakness for the sidhe?

It's not just Jinn - ghosts have salt vulnerability too. It might feel "weird", but salt has occult significance.

I was gonna ask that question also

well, hadnt seen the ghosts added to that category yet, thought it was just the jinns... then it makes gameplaywise sense, so ghosts all got invisible then?

Zombies are traditionally stopped by a line of salt, as are other supernatural beings in South East Asian mythology.

Ghosts having unseen/invisibility might be too much...imagine Lemuria with that. As for Zombies, you could put that on soulless, but they are already really bad compared to longdead

i mean, salt is nothing which is yet kinda used in magical attacks or weapontypes in the context of the game. having saltswords or whatever would be a bit weird, compared to profane "modern" iron. having salt as one of many unnamed components in banishment rites against undead/demonic entities seemed more reasonable from a "the whole picture" view. now having it as some kind of special counter against some hard stuff like djinns seems interesting through by gameplayreasons if it doesnt get silly (like waterspells which now must be classified like saltwalter).

Elven' national troops with glamour too have "salt vulnerability" - attack by enemy with salt causes a shock capped damage. There is a ебнуться можно,.,

Andrej, are you sure about this? I'm not seeing it in-game or in the inspector. Is that a mod doing it?

(I can see an argument for and against salt with fae units. It's certainly associated with them, but not as strongly as with jinn.)

A-D-N: this is a mystical mythical thing, not a chemical reaction, so saltwater is fine - it's only salt in its dry form that is potent. If saltwater was an issue, Marids would be in trouble...

Translating from "english" to english (he showed a screenshot in our chat) - salt attack deals no damage to non-salt vulnerable units (capped at 0) but apparently still can stun them. I'm not checking how exactly it actually works right now, no sir. :P
Screen in question. Sidhe lord actually looks stunned. https://i.imgur.com/g8p3BaV.jpg

That sounds like a bug, although if someone suddenly threw salt into my face I'd pretty stunned myself and I'm not a Jinn or Ghost :)

That's exactly the kind of thing a Djinn or Ghost would say! I'm on to your little secret, Zonk...
