Shadow Brand no longer affects "health"?

I seem to remember the Shadow Brand used to steal HP from those hit by the sword and reduce fatigue of the wielder (like Soul Vortex).

The following Dom3 thread mentions lifestealing:

The Dom4 mod inspector says the Shadow Brand "Affects Health (?)".

The Dom5 mod inspector no longer says this.

Am I remembering this correctly, and has this changed in Dom5?

Not as I recall - shadow brand has always been large AOE AN damage with MR resist. I've only been playing since Dominions 3.

The classic lifestealing weapon is the wraith sword. That will drain hp and fatigue and give it to the wielder. Drawback is it is a two handed sword.

There's the blood thorn at construction 6 for a one hander, or the Formoria only spear at construction 2.

As a thought.. what if at a certain strength a unit could use a two-hander as a 1-hander? I mean if you're as strong as a giant, you'd think you could wield a wraith sword in 1 hand? This would be similar to how Thea made 2-handed swords worthwhile (a little too good, in all honesty)

Would be one way, now of course Illwinter made giants increase the size of the sword itself so a giant wielding a twohander has more reach then a human with the 'same' sword.

I thought that was just accounting for the length of giant arms.

I doubt giant thugs need any buffs as they are already the best thug/SC chassis out there.
