Invading Water Throne
Well this is my first game of SP Dominions and I gotta say its pretty frustrating. 5 thrones of ascension, 4 on land which I conquered no problem and 1 in the water with a water kingdom which is giving me all sorts of problems. There are no provinces which recruit sea units and the water kingdom has the sea throne defended with 100+ units including a couple of asp turtles. I used up all my gems summoning 4 sea kings but alas that wasn't enough and they killed my prophet to boot. Now I can't even seem to declare a new prophet, and I have no gems...what to do in this situation?

You can declare a new prophet 6 months after the death of the previous prophet.

About accessing water, there are several options. Sea trolls is one of them. Undead legions is another.

You could also try it with a powerful Super-Combattant (for example a fully equipped Earth King).

A solution I commonly use in single player these times is to build hordes of Vine Ogres, they do the job either on land or sea.

Generally people set the Throne requirements to win a game to less than the total number of Thrones, so that you can ignore a Throne if taking it will be a real slog.

In terms of winning a single battle underwater, the best option is just to spam as many Water Elementals as is physically possible. Even a W1 mage can go Summon Water Power > Summon Water Elemental if you give them 2 gems. If you can get about 10 W1 or W2 mages all casting Summon Water Elemental a few times you can usually take any UW province.

A lot of mages with easily accesable items thats lets you to go UW would help a lot. If you had an acces to sea kings, I bet you had some W mage already. There is a lot other options, but I would not expect you to have them all open - it depends on nation you play mostly.

You can try a dominion kill on the water kingdom. Build temples every where and try to craft Juggernauts via Juggernaut Construction. Once the water kingdom is dead, you can easily take over their lands, even ones with Thrones

I spammed water elementals with about 5 w3 and 15 w1 mages and that did the trick! But, on the turn I finally took the last throne province, I got a dominion win instead. Sweet victory!

One question I have is at the end an Erinya was attacking all my commanders. Is that a spell another kingdom cast on me, or did I do something to provoke it?

It's both, actually.

"The Kindlly Ones" is a Nature/Fire spell that summons the three Erinyes (Alecto, Tisiphone and Maegera) into the world. They're assassins which attack commanders of other nations semi-randomly every turn, although one of them specifically focuses on Blood Mages and another specifically focuses on commanders with a high number of kills.
