Do you have Iron Angels yet? They tend to do well against sacreds, and are likely to get the first hit as they don't stop to buff themselves.

Is he just raiding your provinces or actually thugging your armies? I had to just let one go for a while and ended up counter attacking the Capitol. Then they joined the main army and I was able to just rout the whole. Still. Those harbingers are a tough challenge

This. Harbingers are Sacred, and Guardians excel at stomping those.

i did not know that bane of heresy works on a miss. thank you, that is useful.

Guardians are your best bet but for some other ideas Vine shields check MR to apply the tangle effect. So 4-5 of your cavly leaders with greatswords of sharpness and anti magic amulents should sufficently maul him. only require 2 gems each as you are ma ulm.

Ahahaha. Good one :)

1) Guardians:
cons - if small part of the army, simple troops can croud an angel, die, and rout whole army without actually guardians even hit something

2) Cheap stuffed commanders:
cons - same at guardians. but 4-5 stuffed knigths with right equipment (Ap sword+burning pearl+horned helmet or something) can do that if not crouded
But if you do Knight commanders - angel can be scripted to cast and attack cavalary - so maybe amulet of luck too

3) Golems:
cons - little higher at research tree and more expencive, but can direct counter raiding angels

the golems would be good because you could jump them in the magic phase, right? of course...you'd have to be selfless to answer:steammocking:

Golems:
1) Teleport in magic phase to capture dead raiding
2) They can do Angel 1vs1 so Angel cannot rout army
3) They are Mindles an will not be hit with Awe5+Fear5 and cannot rout
4) They have high HP and will not be one-shoted by Angel if they hit Mirror Image

Well The person who made it invested 33-38 gems if you count the hammer for all items. This excludes the cost of summoning it. so its hard to trade badly if you are playing MA ulm

A small group of Guardians with touch of madness and strength of earth cast on them will mess that thing up. If he's raiding you, create two or three small parties of Guardians with a smith to buff them with strength of earth and an N1 mage to cast Touch of Madness if you have Thau 4. That same nature mage can cast entangle. Berserked Guardians will ignore awe, entangle will remove all of the harbringer's defense, and the extra strength will help penetrate the armor (not that they need it with black halberds) as well as shake off the vines.
