The seiging army controls the province, so events can happen to that province for the opponent.
The province generates Half the income.
Wait, is this right? You cant recruit anywhere when any of your castles under siege? Or just from the castle under siege? Has to be just from the castle under siege. If you have 5 forts, and one is under siege, you can still recruit from the other 4, right?
Sieging a fort can be a powerful mechanic as it isolates the sources of income and facilities inside the province from the other provinces. So if you only have 2 forts (each with a lab) and own 16 other provinces when the enemy besieges both forts you lose all gold and gem income from the 16 provinces and get half the gold from the 2 fort provinces and whatever gems those provinces provide. This is why sneaky and flying enemies are so dangerous as they can shut down your whole empire for several turns cutting off income and recruitment and unless you have a decent army nearby to break the seiges it can be devastating.
You cannot site search or blood hunt while beseiged.
