As you can see the max level required is 6 and there are no crosspath sites. All the site searching spells search as level 9 probably just to indicate that the province was ultimately searched and there's no chance you missed something even if future patches or mods will add sites with higher level requirement.
i do not beleive any sights require cross paths to uncover, and i am fairly sure of that.
Whut? If I search a site with say an E3 Mage, there is no chance there is a site that requires higher E to find?
I would assume not, since it greys out the search after a level 3 search
Not sure if that is correct and I've never found that site, but then I wouldn't unless I used a site search spell as I only send S4 mages (with boosters)
In Dom 4 & 3, if you searched with a lvl 4, you would find all sites of that path in a province. The only sites unfindable were ones triggered by special circumstances, such as a event etc...those would have a default higher then 4 to indicate they could not be found by site searching. Like some magic items / spells have / used to have a research path of 10+, just to show they could only be obtained under very special circumstances. I think every site, magic item, spell has to have a default number, hence this system.
In Dom 5 will a lvl 4 in any path still find all the findable sites (excluding special unfindable by site searching) or as it changed to lvl 6 or lvl 3 as different people are saying in this thread?
All magic sites have a minimum "level" that a site-searching mage needs to be equal to or above to be able to find a site. This is, most often, levels 1-4.
There are exceptions:
Level 0 Magic sites are automatically found by a nation once that province is under that nation's control. No mages are needed and no site-searching is needed. Multiple copies of the same sight can be found in differen (or even the same) province.
Level 5 Magic sites are created by Spells or Events, or are "Starting Sites" which exist in some nation's capitals. They cannot be randomly placed on the map, and only one of them exists in any given game.
Level 6 Magic sites are rare, unique sites of which, only a handful exist in game. A Level 6+ mage in the appropriate path needs to search for these sites to be found, and only one of them exists in a game.
From the Dom 5 Data inspector, it appears that there are 2 Death, 2 Ice , 1 Fire, 1 Nature, 1 Astral and 1 Fire/Death cross-path Level 6 magic site in-game.
There are no such magic sites that require Level 7 or above mages to locate them. As the first reply stated, Site-Searching-Spells search up to Level 9 Magic Sites simply to tell the player, "Hey, you can be really, REALLY sure that we've found any magic site in that path which would exist here." ;)
Thanks!
So basically the same except a possibility of 1 max per game of a lvl 6 site. Got it...I don't think my site searching strategy is going to change because of that, even if the lvl 6 sites are powerful, which they are not so much, just have long event chains.
Meaning this one can't be found with spells?
