How many blood slaves can you get per province?
There seems to be a soft cap,it seems to me around 75 slaves are all I can get from a 20k population province efficiently. The notification says blood hunt meets difficulty due to strong resistance even if I pratrol unrest to 0.

Blood hunting - all blood hunting - occurs before patrolling. Patrollers do not reduce unrest in the province between individual blood hunts since in the turn resolution all blood hunting occurs first.

Incidentally, income is calculated after blood hunting and before patrolling, so there is a certain invisible impact on your economy, leaving you with less gold in the treasury than subtracting your upkeep from your income would suggest.

Thus usual advice I see (and give) is that you shouldn't have more than eight B1 hunters with Sanguine Dousing Rods in a province.

So 8 B1, Population doesn't matter? I'm pretty sure it's easy to blood hunt provinces with more pops. Does it mean 8 B1 hunt a 10k province and a 20k province cause the same amount of unrest?

Past 5,l000 people I'm fairly certain that population has no effect on the results of blood hunting, which is why provinces with a population of just over 5000 are ideal for blood hunting.

What? So I don't need to rekt my 20k province, 7k/8k produce the same result?

Well, if you're patrolling the unrest away a 5000-5500 pop province will quickly slip below the magic number of 5000. Honestly blood hunting works fine on provinces with a population as low as 4000, even if 5k+ is ideal.

The way it works is that each blood hunter has to succeed on three checks to gain blood slaves. First is based on their skill (B1 is 50%, B2 or B1 with a Sanguine Dousing Rod is 90%, B3 or higher is 100%), second on province unrest (chance of failure is unrest/4 so at 100 unrest there's a 25% chance to fail) and thirdly on province population - for which I don't remember the formula, but it's in the manual somewhere. At 5000 population or more the third check has a success rate of 100% which is why you see it mentioned so often as the break point for bloodhunting. In practice you usually want a bit more than that 'cause blood hunting does make the population go down, and patrolling the unrest away makes it go away significantly faster.

yeah probably 10Kpop + growth3 is a ideal combination. Now I see that there is no point to wreck any province with 20K+ or capital.

Depending on the point of the game and your research, blood slaves from a province can be worth more than your lost income from a standpoint of which helps you more, money or more Storm Demons.
